I'm NOT related to or even acquainted with the composer, but am delighted to report that the other reviewer (Emma's mum) is right - this book is great fun for pianists of all ages.

Living in a house where two of us teach the piano, this book is full of fun, both for us and for our more advanced pupils. Not suitable for beginners, really (I'd recommend the Piano Time Christmas Carol book for complete beginners Xmas duets) but this book is, indeed, the best Christmas piano duet book ever for grade 3+ and for adult amateur players. Full of great tunes - sight reading through this book is guaranteed to produce tears of laughter in our house! :)

p.s. Special congratulations to Emma's mum - I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have this book on our piano if it wasn't for her years of encouragement and duet playing during Emma's childhood. Let's all take a leaf out of her book and encourage our young piano players!!

I'm a piano teacher and have used this book with various pupils over Christmas. I'd say it has things suitable from grade 1 standard and up. Even my more advanced pupils at grades 4 and 5 really enjoyed being able to sight read a lot of the duets and play them well from the outset. We all had fun playing together. This book has brought much fun and merriment leading up to Christmas, whilst still developing skills of sight reading, timing and playing with another person.
The only one I wasn't keen on that we tried was 'O come all ye faithful.'

I am not Emma's mum either, but she is right, a lovely collection of duets in progressive order. The first ones are very easy and then become rather challenging! This is not my first duet book by Emma Coultard, and this is as lovely as the others; I like her arrangements as the harmonies are pleasant.
