BGP ,an imprint of ACE?--have issued acid jazz compilations which seem to duplicate tracks --some questionable re their Acid Jazz credentials.
However ,at the price I paid 'worth it alone for Maceo's Water Melon Man!!

This CD is a good introduction to this genre, for the price you can hardly go wrong.
You can tell this is from a small label, as some artists appear more than once on the compilation, and the inlay is hardly the most professional. For the price you accept this however, and you do get some interesting tracks not easily found elsewhere, perfect for evening listening.
The production quality is generally OK, a good system will bring out the drum+bass which carries most of the songs. Intelligent use of brass peppers many tracks, and unobtrusive synths serve to give an ambient, lounge feel to the compilation. Those tuned to more commercial music may find a few moments of cheese (eg the first few seconds of the CD), but nothing you wouldn't expect for this price. The tracks sit cohesively together as a collection that may equally inspire you to dance or chill.
This record is a gem, I recommend it. If you don't like it - at least its not pop.

This is early acid jazz with a definate 70 s feel to it. It features some classic tunes and so me not so classic but its worth a punt for the listener who wants to chill and let your stress levels become lowered.
