BE AWARE of
The only problem is that it doesn't convert HDMI sound to DVI (which is only video). If you need to convert also sound, you need a different adaptor. I solved my problem with the PS4 using a headset connected to the controller.
If you use a laptop, you can use a external audio device connected to the laptop, or the own laptop audio output, and then easily set the audio output to someone different that the HDMI sound.
I currently own a Lindy DVI Switch box with remote, which also has audio feeds for each switch output / input configuration. [i.e one DVI Output with Stereo Jack, and 4 x DVI Input with Stereo jack for each.]
My old PC had a DVI on its main board but this new PC does not, the highest output video signal on the new PC was HDMI and whilst my new monitor supports all three video connections (DVI, VGA and HMDI) I found as soon as I plugged my new PC to my monitor using HDMI, it took over on signal input and then made changing over to my input sources on the other devices with only DVI more hassle as I then had to start messing about with input on the monitor to try and get that back to picking up a signal for DVI - The older devices here are a Power Mac G5 and older Mac Mini.
The solution here was to use an adapter to get my all back on DVI and using the switch, so it makes it easier to change over.
These HDMI/DVI adapters are a great buy, very good quality, solid feel and great connection, so I have no problem with anything to do with these, they are highly recommended and well worth the money as you get two for the price.
However for what I needed it for I then hit a snag, the adapters protrude at the DVI end where the thumbscrew wheels are to allow a secure connection.
Due to the close proximity of the audio connection for each switch input/output on the Lindy box, it is impossible to plug the adapter and audio jack into the switch, this is because Lindy have got the DVI/Jack/DVI/Jack so close together that any wide based DVI plug will obstruct both from items being plugged into together, so I had to use a hacksaw and take off a tiny bit of the plastic off on the DVI adapter so I could plug both into the Lindy Switch.
So if you have Lindy DVI switch, these DVI-HDMI adapters work perfectly but you may need to file off a small piece on the DVI adapter to get them to both fit in the switch together!
All in all I can't fault these adapters and they work perfectly, so highly recommended. hence the 5 stars on all.
I have a laptop with a HDMI output, and also a Raspberry Pi with a HDMI output.
This connects directly onto the monitor (securely held in place via thumb screws), allowing me to play video output from my laptop or Raspberry Pi, via a standard HDMI cable.
It should also work to connect the output from a computer DVI video card, to a monitor with HDMI input, but I have not needed to test this.
As this pack contained two adaptors, it also offers the option of connecting a DIV output to a DVI input via a standard HDMI cable, if you have a HDMI cable but no DVI cable.
However, it was an easy matter to slightly file the ends of two adaptors to make them fit.
For the dual screen setup you will need to look at some tutorials online but I managed to get it working with an nvidia graphics card and so far so good!
Fast delivery as well so would definitely recommend this product and seller to others!
Most monitors these days are hdmi compatible having two, I wanted to confirm that the pc could handle two screens.
Cheapest option was to get this adapter and it works perfectly. Now the boss can watch cricket on one screen and keep working on the other. Thoroughly recommend this product as it is great quality for the price and great value being a twin pack as well.

One of these two adapters I will keep as a spare. The other adapter did convert DVI to HDMI really easily and worked up to the max timing my monitor can do (75Hz). The images look just as sharp and good on HDMI as they did on DVI.
But there's a catch. No audio is passed through this adapter. But since I have my audio pass through the other monitor on the actual HDMI, I still have my sound on that monitor. So I didn't need to hook up separate sound systems. But if you are going to use these adapters, just know you will have to hook up a pair of speakers to whatever motherboard or sound card you have installed.
I'm quite happy with these adapters. They allow my combo DVI-I and HDMI video cards to work like they are all HDMI ports (except for the missing sound pass-through). I highly recommend these for converting a video card DVI to a connector that any HDMI cable can attach to.
I did not test to see if it would convert HDMI to DVI as I no longer have a DVI monitor to test this on. So I can't attest to this adapter being able to convert in both directions.
COMPACT AND NOT BULKY. THE DVI OUTLET ON MY LAPTOP DOCKING STATION IS CRAZY CLOSE TO THE DISPLAY PORT, HAD TO SHAVE A LITTLE PLASTIC TO GET THINGS TO FIT. ITS NOT DUE TO THIS ADAPTER, IT IS VERY COMPACT. ITS MY DOCKING STATION THAT HAS PORTS SO CLOSE ITS CRAZY. USED IT TO CONVERT DVI TO HDMI TO CONNECT TO A HDMI KVM STITCH. WORKS PERFECT AND ALLOWS HIGH RESOLUTION VIDEO TO PASS THROUGH FLAWLESSLY.
