Enjoyment for Your Everyday Home and Work Life
Whether you’re catching up on your favourite show on the Internet or viewing documents, the BenQ GL2460 LED Monitor is the ideal choice. Featuring Flicker Free technology with optimised Eco Mode, a dynamic ratio of 12M:1, and GTG response time of 2 MS, this 24-inch 16:9 LED monitor delivers every image detail with ideal viewing quality.
LED Leads the Way
LED backlighting offers significant advantages over the CCFL technology used in older LCD monitors. These advantages encompass not only performance metrics such as higher dynamic contrast, no light leakage and Flicker Free, but also environmental factors, like a manufacturing process and disposal that produces fewer pollutants.
An Integral Part of Your Home and Workplace Décor
The GL60 series blends well with any décor, adding a hint of low-key elegance to your living space with its high-gloss frame and base stand streamlined by a curvaceous neck that creates stunning visual fluidity. Beautiful from any angle, the back of the GL2460 is carbon fibre patterned to recreate the powerful drive of a racing car and energise their whole appearance.
Incorporating a 16 mm slim bezel display, the GL60 series creates a sophisticated look while keeping things compact. You’ll find multi-panel configuration for home entertainment or office viewing use much simpler with less distraction from the monitor frame.
Reading Mode for an Optimised Reading Experience
For a more comfortable reading experience, BenQ has adjusted the monitors colour temperature, brightness, contrast ratio and sharpness to create the Reading Mode, which stimulates the look of printed paper to help reduce the eye discomfort typically caused by prolonged and focused use of eyes on computer monitors.
Flicker Free Backlight
The GL2460 is upgraded to eliminate flickering at all brightness levels. Test your computer monitor for flickering by:
- Place a fan before the monitor screen to check through the spinning fans for flickering
- Use your camera to take a picture of the monitor screen to check for flickering
12M:1 Ultra High Dynamic Contrast for Depth and Definition
The GL2460 comes with an ultra-high dynamic contrast ratio of 12M:1 to add colour depth and definition to darkened and complex motion pictures, so that everything you see, from the brightest white to the darkest black, is rendered to deliver the clearest, smoothest picture performance during movies and video games.
Full HD 1080p 16:9 Visual Perfection
The BenQ GL2460 supports the Full HD 1080p with 16:9 aspect ratio, allowing the subtle details to stand out with rich, realistic colours, making your viewing experience even more absorbing.
Improved Eco Mode for High Energy Efficiency
The improved Eco Mode adjusts the backlight brightness level to ensure the highest display quality is presented to you with energy efficiency. This intelligent mode reduces at least 37 per cent of the power consumed by document viewing, internet browsing and emailing up to 44 per cent of the power consumed by gaming.
Senseye 3 Visual Solution to Your Everyday Viewing Needs
Experience true colours of the world with the BenQ Senseye Human Vision Technology. With the help of its six proprietary calibration techniques, Senseye 3 delivers ideal viewing quality in each of its six pre-set viewing modes -- standard, movie, game, photo, sRGB, and Eco. The Eco mode especially designed to save power and money.
Superior Response Time
Enjoy high dynamic videos without ghosting or other artefacts with 2 ms GTG response time.
Windows 8 and Windows 7 Compatible
The GL2460 has passed Windows 8 and Windows 7 certification and is fully compatible with both colour systems. Plug in the GL2460 to your computer, and Windows will recognise it instantly, making set up and connection effortless.
BenQ doesn’t just want to comply with green regulations passively, but also to actively develop eco products. ecoFACTS declares BenQ’s greatest efforts on the replacement of hazardous substances, material selection, packaging design, energy-saving design and other aspects of the products.

It comes in the box in three parts, secured very well in polystyrene. The base and stand fit together which then fits into the monitor - a tad fiddly but really not a huge problem...
The quick start guide takes you through it, even if a bit vaguely...
It comes with a VGA (D-sub) cable - to watch HD content I believe you'll need to get a DVI cable, which it has a port for, this is what I will be doing. Note though for normal computer use the VGA is fine (I don't think Windows has HD content?) No HDMI but this wasn't a problem for me as my graphics card is a tad dated - so no port there.
Worked straight away when turned on. The BIOS and other startup bits (I dual-boot so this included GRUB for me) looks stretched and pixellated - but then why does this matter?
Windows found the monitor and did the normal 'Found New Hardware' ritual - didn't change the resolution, I had to do this through the NVidia manager though I suspect I could have just done it through Control Panel. I use Windows XP by the way.
From the off the picture looked incredible - so much clearer and more defined than my old CRT screen (quelle surprise?!). I actually had to turn the brightness down a bit, it was so bright! Not that this is a problem. I spent about 2 minutes going through the montior's menus setting things up - not a huge hassle but, as always with these things, slightly fiddly.Read more ›
Even though these monitors are a bigger screen size than what I had before the gain is in the width of the screen and not the height, in fact the depth is shorter than my old 20 inch widescreen monitor. I wish this screen was taller as it means more scrolling up and down when I look at online maps for example.
My graphics card has 2 DVI outputs but the monitors come with analogue D-sub cables and not the digital DVI-D my graphics card require. I already had a DVI-D cable from my old monitor and am using a converter lead for the other. Looking at both monitors I can't tell the difference between an analogue picture and a pure digital picture so I won't bother buying another lead.
I am going to be a bit mean and give these monitors only 4 starts because they don't come with DVI-D leads and the mains lead is no good for the UK so why is Amazon selling a product that can't be plugged in to a UK electric socket?
This is a midrange quality screen. Having previously used a 27inch 2560X1440 IPS, there is a slight decrease in actual quality. However, at such a low price, I am not going to even think about putting that as a flaw....
Prob the best value for 24inch screen!
All in all for the price (£110) this is a brilliant buy, the size is perfect for me , the screen is an excellent picture and only time will tell how relable the monitor is, so as it stands for general computing use I would certainly reccomend this unit.
One downside and worth remembering is that the supplied power lead is for the continental 2 pin plugs ........ luckily for me my old power lead fitted but bear this in mind
