Her current Samsuung monitor, though relatively new was the culprit so I had a search around for low blue light monitors and the BenQ came up so we took a chance and bought one. In the week that she has been using it, her symptoms have pretty much resolved. She is very happy with the image quality as well as the resolution of her symptoms. Highly recommended if you intend to spend a lot of time in front of a monitor.
Set up is an absolute doddle - you probably won't even need to resort to the quick start guide. The stand has an effective tilt mechanism, but no height adjustment. The power supply (both UK and continental mains leads were supplied) seems to run a little hot, but nothing alarming. Loads of options for tweaking the image and saving your custom preferences.
In fact my only real problem was choosing whether to use the monitor with my PC or Xbox One (don't you just love those First World dilemmas?).
Well for now anyway the Xbox One won (mainly because regarding my PC and to paraphrase Roy Scheider in Jaws, I'm going to need a bigger desk). Already spectacular games look utterly fantastic and truly immersive on the BenQ's gently curved screen. Please see below a shot of one of my favourite missions from Halo 4. At a whisker under 32", the screen is more than adequate as a mid-sized TV too and my second photo shows the also excellent picture from a SKY HD box. Both photos were taken in a bright conservatory and, hopefully, demonstrate how vivid the picture quality is. The image is rock-steady with not so much as a hint of flicker and, as someone who has had problems with flicker-sensitivity, that is a big plus for me.
My only very minor criticism is that the sockets for HDMI, headphones and power are tucked away in a recessed rear panel, which can be a bit fiddly if you need to swap cables regularly.
No big deal though. This is orders of magnitude better than my old monitor and will certainly enhance my gaming and overall computing experience (once I buy that bigger PC desk).
In the box you get the monitor itself, mains plug and lead plus an eu plug and lead; setup cd guide, instructions and warranty info, stand and power adaptor. I was pleasantly surprised to find an HDMI cable in there too which is not too common and will save you having to splash out on one of these. Setup took less than 5 mins. Simply clip the stand together, attach monitor, plug in power and hdmi and you're ready to go. I plugged in my base unit and there were no issues at all, the image was straight onto the screen.
The colours and quality on this product are outstanding... Blacks are deep and rich and everything is very bright. This model has a feature which automatically adjust the brightness according to the light in your room, the theory is it reduces strain on your eyes. I have tried this in a darkened room and it does definitely help. Obviously if you stare at any screen for hours on end it will hurt your eyes, but this feature worked well to reduce strain and it keeps the brightness adapted at all times, great if watching movies or playing games. I really would recommend you consider this monitor. It's worth paying the extra for the large size, great build quality and improved resolution. Once you notice the difference over standard monitors you won't regret it!
So why 5*... I connected the Benq monitor to my Marantz 1506 av amplifier via HDMI which I use as my gaming hub - this is connected to my PS4, XBox One, Wii U and my latest acquisition, a Nintendo Switch. I couldn't believe the quality of the visuals compared to my wonderful Dell monitor (Dell U271SH) which usually outputs the video from my consoles.
I was stunned by the Benq's colour palette and response time and it's 32" diagonal stretch compared to my Dell's 27", particularly when playing Nier Automata on PS4, The Legend of Zelda on Nintendo Switch and the Bolivian vistas on the XBox One version of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon. The subtle curving of the screen is also strangely immersive. I am hooked and so I am going to go with a two monitor set-up from now on, on my desktop - the Benq exclusively for console gaming (as its max resolution is 1920 x 1080) while PC and MacBook Pro hook-ups will be handled by the Dell (output from this is 2560 x 1440).Read more ›

I have the GW2760HS and this doesn't come close. Blacks are not black, and no matter how much I fiddle with the colours, whites are never as white as the GW2760HS either. Read morePublished 6 months ago by daninthemix
An excellent unit. I use this for music production primarily, where the ability to see tiny gradations of faders and and buried submenus is essential. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Supertzar
