From the manufacturer
Designed for Office Applications to Make Work More Efficient
The BL912 not only brings great visual performance to your workstation and house, but it is also an essential part of your solution to minimise the total cost of ownership and maximise staff productivity - a win-win decision that benefits all.
Flicker-free Backlight for Visual Pleasure
The BL912 has been upgraded to eliminate flickering on all brightness levels. Conventional LCD screens flicker 200 times per second. Your eyes may not see the flickers, but can certainly feel them. Free your eyes from flickers by switching to Flicker-free Monitors and let your eyes do less work.

However... There is one very good reason to buy this monitor and it has nothing to do with the build quality. It just so happens that it supports a Horizontal Scan rate of 15,6kHz as well as the much more common 31kHz.. This means you can plug in a 20+ year old Amiga computer and it will work right away. (All you need is a VGA adapter from the Amiga's RGB Video port) It will sync both at 15 and 31kHz without problems. It also happens to have a 5:4 aspect ratio which is in fact the very same as Amiga 640x512 pixels (As opposed to 4:3 on PC 640x480).
So all in all, if you're into retro computers this is a great find, but honestly I can't quite imagine why you would buy this plastic 5:4 with a max resolution of 1280x1024 for a modern PC.
I bought this monitor on the strength of over reviews stating that it can handle 15kHz signal (so hence, it's a multisync monitor) which it does.
I've tested this monitor on Amiga 500, 1200, CD32+SX1 and also tested on my Acorn Archimedes A3010 and it displays perfectly on all of them.
Ironically, I've not plugged a modern PC into this monitor yet so have no idea on how it stands up as a standard PC monitor, but if the picture from the other sources I've tested with are anything to go by, it'll be viewable.
A couple of things that disappoint though, are the fact that the monitor's OSD menu isn't easy to navigate and the general build quality is a bit cheap feeling.
For the price, it's a good deal, especially if you're looking for a modern monitor for a retro computer or console.
Externally it is neat and unobtrusive with easily adjustable height, tilt and swivel. Matt screen.
The display is less attractive. Default setting has a high colour temperature and contrast. Display adjustment is via five small buttons well hidden under the lower edge with tiny embossed labels invisible against the black rim. Adjustments made essentially by feel are very tedious.
Several hours of tweaking the display both with these controls and the Windows 7 monitor calibration tool failed to yield a pleasant display with accurate colours. Comparison was with a second monitor run side by side on the same pc and with the same images on a separate laptop. Blues were violent and tending to violet, reds were degraded. Anything less than a high contrast gave too dim a screen.
Colour and image rendition is always somewhat subjective but I was just not happy with this monitor. For photographic work and website graphics preparation I did not feel it was adequate or could be used with confidence - Returned it to Amazon.
