I can recommend it.
If you have problems getting connected BUY IT, Its one of the few computer things that work. Its also so easy to set up.
If you dont like it send it back, but I bet you dont!!!!!!
1. I have two laptops to connect wirelessly and whilst one connects and stays connected the other periodically gets kicked off. Not only does it drop the connection the user has to re-enter the pass key before connecting again - pressing connect alone doesn't work.. Normally I'd blame the laptop but this never happened before with the G router and it never happens with this laptop on other public networks outside the house. Even those that are protected.
2. The router claims to offer Client IP filtering which would allow me to stop specified users accessing the internet at certain times of the day. The screens to enable this functionality are certainly present but the changed settings cannot be saved. This problem can be found online in many forums so the bug in this functionality appears to be a frequent problem. However Belkin don't admit it.
The biggest problem with Belkin is their technical support is woefully inadequate. If it's an easy problem, they can solve it but anything more complicated and they are lost. I'm sure that giving a script to call centre staff is the right policy for 90% of issues but they also need to have a process that escalates unresolved ones quickly with the ultimate goal of a fix if necessary. That's not the way they dealt with me.
So I'd be hesitant to recommend this product. As a basic wireless router it does the job but don't get it for the special feature. I give the router three stars, Belkin support one star - average two stars.
Other people have reviewed this product and said some of the features wern't working or they kept getting disconnected, which I had at the start. There has recently been a new firmware released which you have to download from belkins website that fixes all issues with the router, hope this helps.
The belkin technical support is TERRIBLE. In all I've spent about 3 hours on the phone to them, without them managing to resolve any of the issues I've mentioned. I only looked this product up on Amazon to see if anyone else has had the same problem. Although most have not, I notice one reviewer has had a similar problem.
So, my advice:
DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
