I found this very easy to use.

Insert into lighter socket. Press the scan button. Change radio station to the channel. Instant clear crisp sound.

I have a good sound system in my car and this Gadget makes full use of it. Clear crisp sound with no radio distortion at all! Its very practical and the ability to turn the screen is very useful.

Hands free is not so good. It works, however I find it very hard to hear what people are saying on the other end of the phone. It seems the microphone picks up my voice clearly as people can hear me well enough. I'm hoping fiddling with some settings will rectify this, (but I wont get my hopes up).

I bought this to charge my iPhone and play music with it. This it does down to a tee.

I would recommend this to anyone not too bothered about hands free.

I've had this for a week now and had to put out a review, first of all, I bought this because I normally use an AUX cable in my car with my IPOD Touch to listen to music, however due to safety its can be pretty hard to choose music or a podcast with an IPOD in one hand and the other on the steering wheel.

So mainly I wanted a holder/charger/hands free/ item as my girlfriend has an IPhone, so came across this product and thought, great as I can get everything I need in one product.

Again I state my main priority was to get some thing that could play my music and also was a holder, now if you have bought this item to have a charger, great, holder ok, seems that it could break easily if not careful, hands free, good, but your caller will keep on saying, what did you say, as you will sound quite distant, but if like myself love listening to podcast, sport radio etc, its ok, reception on the best frequency still carries a hiss and crackles, but you can tolerate it, however when it comes to listening to music, whole different story, if you listen to anything with bass, it gets heavily distorted, so I tried something quite mellow like some easy listening music and even that wasn't great, overall I got so frustrated with trying to listen to my music, I've had to keep it in the holder which is excellent however still connect it through my aux cable, which realistically defeats the object of minimizing leads all over the place, but need to as listening to music through the Tunebase is unbearable, everything else though is ok, would I purchase again if I had to do it all over again, probably not, so for all the audiophiles out there, this isn't the best option.

I bought this for my Iphone 4 expecting to use it for music & charging only based on reviews claiming that handsfree does not work with IPhone4. It works fine for all 3 though so I am giving it 5 stars.
I really don't understand all the bad reviews. For £30 you get an FM transmitter, handsfree & charger.
The only downside is that you need a clear FM frequency for it to give good sound but that is the nature of an FM transmitter not a problem with the product.

... but as an FM transmitter that charges an iPhone 4 this is the the best I have tried.

The stalk is sturdy and holds the iPhone firmly in place plus the ability to swivel it to a landscape display is handy. It only just fits into the power socket in my Mercedes E Class so check that before buying. Once in place it is steady and in a good position for Sat Nav use as well as music operation.

Sound quality is great (for an FM transmitter), certainly as good as the Griffin equivalent but with the key difference that it is actually powerful enough not to be disturbed by neighboring FM radio stations (something the appalling Griffin Road Trip is incapable of achieving). For example, I drove from Reading to central London recently and never had to switch the FM setting once which was quite a revelation. There is also a power boost button to assist if you do experience some inteferance.

Operation is simple but there are only two presets and the scanning for a free frequency does seem to take a while. That said, with the units power, I have never needed to switch frequencies so only having two presets is not an issue and I have not been forced to use the scanning feature either.

As I said, I have not used the hands free facility as my car has built-in bluetooth which works very well but if this is doesn't matter to you and you are looking for a great FM transmitter for your iPhone this is it!

Note: This review also appears on a similar titled product as I cannot tell if there is a difference in these models:
My first review due to this being my first truly awful product purchased from Amazon. I have used Belkin FM transmitters before with good results and was swayed by this despite the numerous poor reviews for this product. However, take it from me this is awful. I have been happily using an earlier Belkin Tunebase with my IPOD Classic for some time. Reception has always been strong but the purchase of an IPhone meant that something a little more integrated was required to avoid cables everywhere. This seemed to fit all requirements. It falls down as follows (1) Reception is awful - you can hear nothing even pushing the boost button (PRO) to it's maximum. (2) It uses the earphone socket rather than the connector - all other Belkins get sound from the connector so not sure if this is tied to the hands free but it can't improve quality (3) It just keeps on stopping working, recycling or just jumping. On the positive side the mechanism for holding the phone is very neat and avoids the multiple holders that previous adaptors have used. Maybe I got a faulty one...either way it's on it's way back - major disappointment and search continues
