I think that the faulty description as "LEATHER Flip Case" in the title of this must be just a typo, as when I received it, nowhere on the packaging was there a description of this as "leather". I did wonder if it was too good to be true that you could get a leather case for £6.46, and I was right.
It is black, leather-look plastic, and seems to be sturdily constructed, I am, of course, disappointed that it isn't the great bargain I thought it was, since I thought it really was leather, but it does everything that a £20-odd leather case would have done, and it is very hard wearing. Read the reviews of the Zire and Zire 21, and you will see that the most consistent criticism is of the silly blue rubber "cover". This does away with that, you take the rubber cover off, and put it inside this case and it is much better protected that it was. You could, if you were so inclined, clip it to your belt (though I can't imagine ever doing it) with the detachable belt clip.
Being that Zires and Zire 21s are the "very cheap" end of the PDA market you probably won't want to spend a fortune on a really expensive case (unless you want to hide it in something flash-looking and pretend it's a Tungsten T5 or similar), so I can recommend this as a very practical, good value solution to the annoying rubber cover problem. If I'd bought it as a non-leather case I may well have given it 5 stars.

This product, contrary to its description, is not designed for the Z22. The pouch is too big, the on/off button cannot be used in a normal way, the central 5-way navigation button and the address book button are partially covered. This all makes use of this product very awkward. A real Z22-taylored version would be welcome as it is otherwise a fine & sturdy case.

This pretty well made for the price but the cut out holes do not overlay the Z22 controls correctly, although you can just about use the buttons. I thought this was a manufacturing error at first so I returned it for a replacement and found that they're all like that. The screen cut out is fine so the case is still useable and there isn't another option I can find that's anywhere as good a price but they need to update the design to take account of the new Z22 layout. Not sure about the previous comments about it not being leather. The packaging doesn't say, I think that the main cover is leather and the trimmings are probably something else, it certainly doesn't feel like it's as cheap as the price would indicate.

A year ago I reviewed this (non-leather, whatever the description may say) flip-case, which was excellent when I was still using my Zire 21. A year later, through no fault of its own, my Zire 21 is well and truly dead (I accidentally knocked it into a sink of water - good tip for what not to do to PDAs!), and I now have a Z22. The flip case has had to be consigned to the bin (after about 9 months of hard use the press-stud closure broke, but this is not why it got binned as it could have easily been used without the fastening) as it simply isn't suitable for the Z22, which is an entirely different design.

The Zire and Zire 21 were basically the same PDA, at least on the outside, with all of the buttons etc. identically placed. The Z22 is a much-updated version, with an entirely new design - good design, I must add, but very different to the Zires. It is a bit smaller so does not fit snugly in this case and, as all the buttons (especially the on/off button) are in different places, it is essentially useless as a case for the Z22.

I can still recommend it to people who are using Zires and Zire 21s, though not as whole-heartedly as when it was cheaper, then it was a real bargain as well as being a good design.

Bought this case for my Zire 31, the zire fits very snugly into the case and the case does its job in protecting the handheld & easy to clip on belt/carry around, however it fails badly as others have mentioned in the cutouts.
1) You can't use the 5-way navigator button properly, and you can hardly see the power on button.
2) You have to push the handheld up out of the case to get the stylus out.
3) You can't access the headphone socket or the USB socket when in the case.

If you just want this to protect & clip your handheld on to your belt then this is great. But to use my Zire I find I'm just taking it out of the case, so much easier.
