The Belkin Chef Stand is an ideal accessory for chefs who keep recipes on their tablet device. Designed for use in home kitchens, this stand fits neatly on your counter top and allows for several viewing orientations, so it's easy to watch your favourite cooking channel or any other show while you're in the kitchen. It also comes with a magnetic-tipped stylus, which lets you use your tablet's touchscreen even when your hands are messy.
Keep your Tablet Safe and Accessible in the Kitchen
Tablets offer instant access to measurement conversions, ingredient substitutions, recipes, and a library of cooking shows. Designed for the modern chef, the Belkin Chef Stand keeps your tablet convenient and safe in the kitchen.
Sturdy, Non-slip Design for Kitchen Counter Tops
The Chef Stand is designed specifically for kitchen use with a clutter-free, compact design and non-slip rubber base that prevents your tablet from slipping on wet counter tops. The stand can also accommodate a wide range of tablet sizes -- even ones that are protected with cases.
Stylus Keeps Your Touchscreen Clean
The Chef Stand includes a stylus so you can access your tablet without laying a finger on the touchscreen. This helps preserve your tablet from crumbs, grease, germs, and excess moisture. The stylus uses a magnetic, capacitive tip to ensure accurate and responsive touchscreen control -- the screen wakes up as soon as the stylus touches it. When not in use, simply use the included stand to store the stylus conveniently out of the way.
2 Convenient Viewing Angles
The stand can switch seamlessly between 2 different viewing orientations. A low-angle orientation holds your tablet flat against the counter for optimum typing or up-close reading. Additionally, a vertical orientation props your tablet's screen up, allowing you to see it from across the kitchen.

The stand although smart, is no more reliable than the folding case my iPad normally lives in, but a minor positive is that the case didn't have to be removed to use the stand.
Very disappointing, and it's too expensive to be a snazzy chrome paperweight stand, so it'll have to be returned.
The Belkin Chef Stand + Wand is OK in concept and overall design but it is not fully 3rd-gen compatible as claimed because the magnetic lock/unlock feature does not work with the latest iPad.
Belkin's own product page (retrieved a moment ago)
" The magnetic tip works with any touchscreen, and can be used to wake up an iPad 2."
If this is important to you, look elsewhere or wait for Belkin to fix it.
I now have Auto-lock set to 'Never' as that's a better choice for kitchen use anyway!
The stylus does not work on my iPad2 unless you press down scarily hard on the screen, the magnetic swipe works fine but if you can't control the screen its essentially useless.
Another minor point but one that has annoyed me the most is that the stylus doesn't float over the little dock. I may be a little naive for believing it would but have seen pens which can do this. In every picture of the stylus/dock the stylus is scerenely floating above the ring, what a good idea I thought, keeps all those food bits and germs away from your surfaces and iPad, but no. There is no hint in any of the photographs or literature that this is in fact not the case at all.
As I say a minor point, especially in the face of the stylus not working in the slightest!
My advice, buy a cheaper, better, smaller, lighter stand and a seperate FUNCTIONAL stylus.

The stand works well but the wand works only if is used normal to the iPad screen. If it is at an angle less than 90deg it is no goodPublished 14 months ago by Kenneth Winter
Decent, sturdy, looks good. Don't use the wand much, but it does work, and looks quite good in the stand. Useful stand for any room, not just kitchen.Published 14 months ago by P
Very nice looking. A good stand that works well.
We have a heavy duty screen protector on our pad and you have to push quite hard with the wand to make it work.
This stand is very handy when I am cooking and I can watch tv on my iPad or read. Very practical.Published 21 months ago by littleleno
