I ordered this to prep for my upcoming massive TV purchase and I needed a solid power centre. THIS FIT THE BILL PERFECTLY!

The item arrived in a surprisingly large & heavy box. When I opened it up I was impressed with the unit. Having used cheaper plastic hubs I didn't expect a monster like this at all. It's metal in construction and it feels like it is a keeper. Hopefully this item will live long & protect!

It comes with a bag of cable ties, aerial/satellite (single LNB) cables & phone line protector. I haven't used any of these as I have Sky+HD, my phone line is on the other side of the room and I don't use an aerial so this will sit in the box. I haven't bothered with the velcro cable ties as there is no hope for the mess of cables behind the TV stand - maybe an exorcist might be able to help that out. There's a instruction manual in the bag but I do not need it - it's pretty obvious what you need to do.

The aluminum/steel unit is a big boy! It has a very long 3m mains cable that you can wrap around in the grooves to tidy up unnecessary cable length, though like I said in the previous paragraph - there's no need for me to even bother... Each outlet is labelled for it's use as there are specific filters for the electrical current (or maybe that's a gimmic) needed. To clarify - it says DVD, AV RECEIVER, SAT BOX etc. so you know where to plug those items in. You can wall mount this as well (a possibility for me when I get new furniture & de-clutter my wire disaster). Typical neon power switch to turn it on & off and little lights indicating protection circuitry is active/faulty.

    It works!

Fed-up with a mass of extension leads & power cubes behind my telly, I bought this item on the back of the good reviews.

Firstly at around £33 this is the same price as a lot of Masterplug "Home office" surge protectors, so I thought represented good value.. especially since it included an "Isolator" function. A Tacima equivalent would be over £20 anyway.

This thing is HUGE! Around twice the volume & weight of a standard 8-way surge protector but it feels amazingly well made.

You also get a number of labels for the attached cabling AND some velcro strips for cable management (all worth a few quid).
Included is a 2-way phone slitter, which is a nice touch. I've mounted mine on the wall using the included screw template... another nice touch

Unfortunately there is only a single f-plug for your sattellite box. As my SKY+ box needs 2 connections, this is insufficient. I could get some f-plug to coaxial adapters then I may be able to use the COAX sockets proved.

Let's be absolutely honest, I can see NO DIFFERENCE in picture quality.. maybe due to the fact that I'm not using the aerial screening. However, as a very solid 8-way surge protector with some extras thrown-in, this is a very good product. I won't be buying any more for the Study as there are are cheaper Belkin alternatives alavailable i.e. without the "isolator" function.

Plenty of sockets, solid build, looks good (although I keep well hidden). No problems since purchase some time ago. Not really needed surge protection (yet / luckily). Would buy again.

I don't use the non-mains sockets so much and one of the TV aerial sockets is slightly loose (but easy to rectify). The supplied leads aren't the best quality (no surprise)

It's really good in reducing noise for AV products at home. You can see the difference once you plug your TV to this AV Isolator.

A large and heavy (duty) product. I had an issue with my television blinking off for a few seconds everytime the fridge switched on or off, and the hi-fi would occasionally pop at the same time. Now the problem is (almost) non existant. I have also ordered some clip on ferrite cores for the TV power cord which I am told will remedy the occassional binking that I still get.

Additionally the cord is a good length and the unit iself can be wall mounted (there is a drilling template included). It also comes with an assortment of lables for marking your cords.

Overall very happy with this purchase.

Solidly made, with all sockets clearly labelled, it cleans up dirty mains input nicely and protects against power surges and lightning strikes. Can be easily wall-mounted, and the grooves around the outside to coil the cable if your mains plug is closer than 3m are a nice touch. I plugged the Tacima 6-way mains conditioner (Tacima 6 Way Mains Conditioner and Radio Frequency Interference Filter) into the "Receiver/Amp" socket to give me more (super-clean!) sockets for my AV amp, BluRay Player, DVD recorder, and turntable. It's just a pity it doesn't have two satellite inputs (and outputs) to accommodate those of us with Sky+ or Sky+ HD.

Having used belkin products in the past, we have found this particular product very useful with all the peripherals we have attached to our computer.

As we live in an exposed area and are prone to lightning attacks, it has provided excellent protection and their customer service is as always excellent in both advice and if a product has saved your computer, their lifetime guarantee really works.
