As someone who values the iPad Pro 2018's portability and internal power but is disappointed by its lack of ports I've been searching since purchase 10 months ago for a suitable USB hub for the single USB C port on the unit and me this the best I've found. What I like most is how secure it is on the iPad. Due to it's snug corner design and cable extention I don't feel as if it's going to fall or worse break off when I plug in headphones, USB cables, SD cards etc as I have with hubs that attach directly to the USB port.

In terms of functionality, USB drives, SD Cards, power through, audio out have all worked seamlessly with the iPad running iPad OS. I can easily stream media directly from the storage connected to the hubs via the Files app or copy onto the iPad. It is also designed to work with and without the Apple Smart Folio Case which I like and comes with a carrying case.

If I could ask for one thing it would higher quality audio coming from the 3.5mm port as it is definitely a lower resolution that using Apple's official dongle. That said I've experience the same audio degradation with the HyperDrive and I'm willing to make that sacrifice as I can connect a MIDI keyboard AND headphones and work on music, all while charging.

Time will tell how it holds up but build seems pretty good to me and due to the design and case I don't evision problems. Would happily recommend for those looking to maximise the use of their iPad, especially musicians like myself.

By and large an unobtrusive expansion hub, certainly far more handy than a standard USB-C hub. All ports perform as expected. For anyone reading the reviews for more practical feedback of actual use, it is worth noting that the hub fits the 3rd and 4th generation iPads perfectly (with gasket / spacer if no folio or keyboard being used, or without if a one is being used). As far as I can tell, the hub fit has been engineered to fit using official Apple folios or keyboard folios.

However, it's pretty difficult to get the hub to fit if one is using both a keyboard folio and a GLASS screen protector. To be fair, I had quite a thick glass screen protector, but when I changed it for another brand, the hub fitted with both folio keyboard and screen protector. If the screen protector hasn't been applied properly on the corner of the iPad that the hub uses, some bubbling might appear around the hub due the the pressure of the tight fit.

The hub fits perfectly over my Apple keyboard folio and TechGear glass screen protector, but didn't fit with JETech glass screen protectors.

The fitting with how snug it is is barely noticeable, colour matches iPad almost perfectly, sits nicely on the iPad without bulk or looking odd.

Used all ports so far with no issues, HDMI picture quality very good, fast enough transfer speed, only thing not used which I doubt I ever will is headphone port but I’m a wireless guy. Overall very impressed and a nice touch with the protective leather carry case.

Hope this lasts the rest of time as only had this a few days but tested functionality and for the price I’m impressed.

i bought one of these hubs some months ago ,it worked fine with the old folio case .But i just got the new magic keyboard case and its a bit thicker .So it wont fit unless you take the ipad out of the case .Just a little heads up if you are planning to buy

I am very impressed with this hub. It is well built and has all the sockets one is likely to need. I particularly like the fact that it plugs into the USB C socket rather than the whole hub 'hanging' on to the socket. Only issue is that it does not always fit on to the Ipad in its case but no real problem in just plugging it in
