About the Author

Nicola lives in Rochdale, England with her husband and four children (six if you include the dogs!) She is the author of New Adult/Contemporary romance novels Missing Pieces, Saving Amy and the Take My Hand series. She is also the author of m/m erotic romance Being Sawyer Knight and is currently working on m/m romance Taming Ryder, due for release in summer 2014. When she is not busy playing with her imaginary book friends (or talking about them with real life friends!) she can usually be found carrying out her ordinary mum/housewife/all round slave duties. WOW and WOW again! I'd advise on stocking up on tissues and spare panties before opening this book!

This is a refreshing addition to the MM romance genre and features one hot rockstar, Sawyer Knight, lead singer of Souls of the Knight and the man everyone seems to want to be a part of. He should be happy with his lot in life and on the face of things he has everything. But appearances can be deceptive.

Enter Jake, the new head of security of the band and also a huge blast from the past for Sawyer. Is Jake going to be able to break down the walls that Sawyer has built and find the real man behind the facade and in doing so will he make Sawyer realise just who lies behind the public personality everyone loves?

This is an absolutely amazing journey of discovery and self realisation and takes you on an emotional journey of a lost soul! You can't help but fall for Sawyer and when you realise what he has had to contend with during his years apart from Jake your heart actually breaks for the poor guy.

Jake is an amazingly strong character and is determined to get what he wants and after spending many years building a life of his own and making a huge success of himself too, it is clear that he will stop at nothing to get Sawyer to open up.

This is a heart-rending story at times and I cried and I laughed but you come through the other side with a real sense of satisfaction and sense of closure. Both characters develop through the book and in addition to the angst and heartbreak there are may moments of happiness and dare I say panty soaking hotness too! This is definitely one to read and if you've never ventured into the realms of MM romance it is certainly a great one to pop your MM cherry with too!

Got to admit that this book has been lying on my kindle for over 18 months ! As part of my New Year resolutions I've decided to read some of the books that have been on my kindle a while, I'm so glad I decided to start with this book. I love M/M I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but that whole forbidden love thing it's what draws me in and keeps me reading.
Being Sawyer Knight is about well Sawyer Knight and his best friend Jake. Jake has loved Sawyer since they were 14 but never told him until Jake and his family have to move across the world to Australia. It's then at the age of 17 Jake puts a move on Sawyer. Sawyer is shocker confused about Jake's feelings towards him and in that moment pushes Jake away.
Fast forward ten years, Sawyer is one of the hottest lead singers around the front man for Souls of the Knight due to threats on their lives a new head of security is brought in to help. Enter Jake Reed ! sawyer hasn't seen his ex best friend in ten years but has often thought back to their last time together. Jake is still in love with his best friend decided to make a play for Sawyer whether Sawyer is ready or not !
This is probably one of THE best M/M books I've read. Sawyer is very reluctant to give in to his desires and Jake's advances but Jake is loving and patience with Sawyer helping him to embrace and discover who is really is and not to care about what others think.
This is my first book by Nicola Haken but it won't be my last, this book kept me up half the night and reading until my eyes were sore !
Highly recommend book for fans of M/M

"What are you doing?"
"I'm taking what I want and what you need,"
"Someone might come in."
"I locked the door."
"They might hear."
"You'd better be quiet then."

Before Jake Reed moved away he needed to let his best friend know how he loved him so he did, he kissed him and that was the last time they ever saw each other but not before Sawyer told him he never wanted to see him again.
Ten years later Sawyer is in of the biggest bands. Fame. Girls. Money. He has it all But being who everyone wants is tiresome and lonely that is until a face from the past comes back into his life and now the head of his security team. He's not gay and he tries to tell his ex best friend just that but he can't seem to shake the feeling that draws him to Jake like a magnet.

"That was..."
"Incredible."
"Intense."
Thank you, Sawyer."
"For f--ing you?"
"For completing me."

gahhhh!!! Perfect.

Sawyer.
Afraid. Afraid of being who he is so he is who everyone needs him to be. He's ultimately afraid of not being loved so it's easy to sympathize with the why. Even though he's denying who he is and it hurts at time he's a really lovable guy. I love his relationship with Elle. He struggled and he makes some decisions that will have you shaking your head with a possible face palm or two but he grows and you kind of come out of this being proud of him for doing what's right for him.

Jake was amazing!! I loved his determination and confidence. It was never too much.
