I have been recording music professionally for many years,
using massive studio recording desks with all the bows and whistles.
I wanted something for my home studio as my SPIRIT finally gave up the
ghost ans I retired it to the recycling bin after 8yrs faithful service.
The Behringer X1832 is half the size of my previous desk, but looks, in this
case are very much deceiving. It has everything you could possibly need
to produced industry quality recordings including an FX Bay and
9 Band Graphic Equaliszer, both perform exceptionally well with excellent
sound quality. The other very useful feature is the adjustable compression
on the Vox Channels if you are using the desk for live gig work.
I have not used the USB connection facility as I go from the desk directly
into my soundcard so I cannot comment on it's versatility.
Overall this is a well constructed and well thought out mixer desk which
delivers a quality of recording as good as desks many thousands of pounds
more exepensive than it's (around £200) price tag.
As a professional, I can highly recommend the 'Behringer X1832 USB' to both
    professional and amateur musicians alike.
    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I was looking for a replacement mixer after my Behringer Eurodesk 2442 started to die on me. I didn't need anything too fancy as I tend to produce largely on my music workstation, but I needed enough inputs for my hardware synths and enough routing options for my external fx units. Given my current setup, the built-in USB interface and FX units were largely redundant but nice to haves at this price :)

It arrived promptly, although the included quick start guide was next to useless (you'll need to go to Behringer's own website to download a proper copy of the full manual in .pdf format). I can say that everything worked perfectly out of the box and I was quickly back in business..

All in all, a good mixer. Anyone wanting a budget mixer with faders instead of pots, decent mic pre-amps (nothing earth shattering but they're clean and quiet), a decent number of inputs/routing options and a few value-added features will find this a good option.. :)

(One thing to bear in mind.. Behringer are soon releasing their "iX" range of mixers (which offers a built in iPad dock and integrated Klark Technik FX processor - again, two features I don't need) - I'd wager its probably why the 1832USB is being discontinued (and discounted))

Behringer X1832USB Perfect mixer for what I need I own a Xenyx 1222 USB as well and this gives me more scope when used together nice bit of kit for the money can’t go wrong on that score maybe some might say other mixers are better equipped but for the money you’re going to be hard beat to get a lot better keep it up Behringer and thanks Amazon for a great service!

This mixer has not given me any unpleasant surprises. As soon as I opened the box, I knew it was a great quality product. the faders slide easily, and unlike on my previous new Behringer 1202FX mixer, they didn't offer any noise when sliding them. the EQ and FBQ system works amazingly well, (stress on the FBQ - I didn't have much hope for that) and the FX processor was top notch. I love the external FX send system - really useful when I'm using my Behringer Virtualiser! The One touch compression also works very well. All over, a great mixer. Happily recommend to a friend!

This is an excellent mixer with phantom supply and built in effects. Compact yet surprisingly flexible in use.
At the price I paid for an Amazon Warehouse deal, it was a bargain. I would recommend without hesitation.

For the money it's a fantastic piece of kit, but it has it's limitations. The USB audio interface is not two way. Which means when you want to record to a PC you need to de-press red button USB to main. And than if you want to listen to it, you need to press USB to main again. You have so many channels in the mixer but it records only stereo mix output. This cannot record each channel separately. Otherwise it's a really good and quiet mixer. Compressors are very good, per channel EQ is fantastic, 9 band EQ is ok, Surround Sound gives very good effect. FX processor is amazing, for things like voice recording or single instrument recording this is amazing piece of kit.
You can record, two microphones and pan one to L one to R and you have two separate tracks recorded. Many people would record drums onto two tracks mix anyway. For small live venues this is perfect too, as you can mix it on the board and record full mix to a PC or Mac.

I'm a former professional studio engineer and live sound man, who now runs a little home studio and a small PA rig for my kids who are playing out locally. I've found the X1832 to be great as a live PA console, with enough mic inputs to really serve a small band adequately, built in compressors that really help your vocal stand out, and a bunch of little bonus features that really make it easy to sound great live, (i.e., built 8 band graphic eq with feedback detection, built in dual effects like chorus/reverb and delay/reverb, 3 aux outs for monitor mixes and better effects, low cut filters/pads on inputs, etc.), and serviceable as an analog to digital audio I/O and mixer for a home studio. The sound quality of the components are only adequate, but really great I think at the price point. It's been durable, the faders/knobs feel solid, it's reasonably clean sounding, the channel eq's are clean and accurate. I've been using it in those dual capacities for just over a year. I don't think you can do much better at that dual functionality for under $300.
