I bought this device to let me plug an old mixer into my Windows 10 laptop. I found it worked very well once I had cleared the hurdle of locating the right drivers. The manual states that "the device requires no special setup or drivers". This is only partly correct - Windows does install a driver but its for a USB microphone, which is useless.
After a great deal of searching I finally found the required drivers on the Behringer site. To find the right one, search for U-CONTROL UCA200-SR. This allows the download of the driver called BEHRINGER_2902_X64_2.8.40 (for a 64 bit system. 32 bit drivers are available too).
Annoyingly the manual doesn't mention any of this. Luckily it only has to be done once, but the website and manual could both do a better job of pointing users in the right direction.

Whats really disappointing is that despite it being 2021 and with a 2020 mac that such a device is required - Apple really need to return an optical or line out to their desktops - but i can say this little device really does a fanastic job. Just plug in, select 'USB Codec' for the output, run a decent wire from the headphone socket into the mixer, and its coming out of my amp/speakers wonderfully (which is the object, to get high quality audio from mac with potential for mixing into an amp).
Can very much recommend. If you need a simple mixer/usb setup cheaper than a fully integrated mixer with usb, then this is a cost effective way of doing it.

Firstly, this is a very good product, irrespective of its price, it does a fine job, is simple to setup and gets the sound into my mixer (ZMX862) very well via the 'AUX IN' ports.

This item is probably the cheapest functional and decent quality item on the market (that I could find). I've had no issues with it at all and I'm glad for my purchase. It's extremely simple to use, literally just plug your recording device into the UCA222, and plug the device into PC. Sometimes can be an issue getting the software to record from that channel, but in no way is this the fault of the device.
The device itself is quite plasticy, and quite small. This isn't an issue, and it seems durable enough, but this is definitely on the budget spectrum of things. I'm no audiophile, but overall the sound quality seems perfectly good - no distortion or noticable loss of sound. I only got it to plug my synth into the PC so I can loop & play around with sound etc.
My biggest criticism for the device is the ability to only plug one audio device into the device. This device would be extremely strong if it could handle two or more at a similar price range. I don't understand the technology that goes into these things, so perhaps there is a reason why this is not the case, and that the audio interfaces that can do this cost so much more, but in my mind that would improve it greatly and warrent a full five stars.
Overall would reccomend for any novice who just wants to mess around, or do high quality sound recordings etc. I doubt anyone who is above this level would look at this device tbh.

A great solution to Apple removing the Optical Out on their MacBook Pro. I updated to a 2018 Macbook Pro only to find that Apple, in all their (money making) wisdom, had removed the optical tos-link output that was previously built into the headphone jack. The new Macbook's requires the purchase of an adapter to utilise any connection other than USB-C, but once purchased the Behringer UCA222 plugs straight in and is picked up by the Mac immediately offering various input and output solutions. I only needed the Digital Optical Output allowing me to listen to my digital music via an external amplifier without interference. Also, in my case it plugs into the USB hub included in the rear of my external LG USB-C fed monitor, so I don't even have to use a port on my Macbook Pro. The Behringer UCA222 is a little plasticky I guess, but is very good value for less than £20 and, in my experience works perfectly.

A client needed to get great quality sound from a laptop into a professional amp and speaker set in their venue. I searched for 2 days and found all sorts that promised it but this brand and model kept popping up. The price seems too good to be true but I gave it a shot. So impressed. Plugged in, windows 10 installed immediately. 2 rca to 2 xlr in the amp and it works brilliantly. Spoke to their customers who said it was better than it ever sounded. No static, hiss or crackle that often comes from laptops into amps. Would go straight to this again for anyone else that needed it.

At first I loved this little box which I'd bought to interface between my Yamaha keyboard and my PC / Audacity (Microsoft having removed the Mic In option from Windows 10 for reasons known only to them) ..At first it did exactly what I wanted, having ultra low latency meant I could record in real time Yay! .. then after two days it died. When playing back music recorded into Audacity the Behringer box was producing distortion and crackle on the audio. I tried everything to make sure it wasnt just me... it wasnt. I plugged my trusty old "E-Z cap" audio converter in and hey presto, perfect sound ( but with latency). So The Behringer has gone back. Full marks to Amazon for a quibble free refund . Shame though, while it lasted it was superb.
