This was the first book I read as a novice with very little knowledge of the markets. The structure of the book with clear and easy points made it simple to quickly understand the basics of trading.

It is designed for the American market but the principles laid out are easily transferred to the UK market.

Although it doesn't possess the full detail of other books, it is a fantastic initial starting point on which to further your knowledge.

I would highly recommend it if you are a beginner with limited knowledge.

This book does contain the same sort of information as most beginner type books. However it is littered with general "life coach" self help stuff that has plagued american for years. So if you like getting your basic trading info mixed in with alot of cosmic ordering type guff then this is for you.

This is a great book for whoever is trading shares, especially in the American market. If your focus is in other shares market, then a lot of finding a correspondent to what is used in the book is needed. If you trade currencies or commodities, the main tools explained in the book will not be useful.

The first book I read, but I would urge UK customers to look at The Naked Trader first (and no, he isn't paying me to write this!). It is American and there are many similarities with UK investing but the style and nature of it do not lend themselves as well to the UK novice. There is also an awful lot of focus on charting without a similar amount on fundamentals. It's useful background reading, but if you are really thinking about trading, buy The Naked Trader first...

Same old same old.

You can make money but could loose money, bla bla bla.

If you want to become a day trader, it would not hurt to read as much as you can before, and if reading is what you want to do then might as well be this book.

Considering the subject is quite technical I have found this book easy to understand. Once read it should be used as a reference book because you won't remember it all! Although written for the US stock market the subject transfers well to the UK market, just some of the indices are different. I had already borrowed the book from the local library so know what I was buying.

A very practical, down-to-earth book.
Still haven't finished reading it, but so far it has been meeting my expectations.

Toni Turner obviously know her stuff. The problem is there is so much of it in this book on this subject.
I found the information poorly arranged, the graphs difficult in monochrome and quite small in size. In my opinion the book tries to cover too much in a small space which makes for tiresome reading.
The techniques and strategies in the book and most of the other information is available freely on the net so what you are paying for is the privilege of having it all in one place.
So is it worth it? Yes, it probably is.
