Product Description

About the Author

As someone who was born in the middle part of the last century, before video games, colour television and the many other electronic distractions of today Paul Duffield has fond memories of the time that he spent reading old fishing books, making fishing tackle, and learning to catch fish in the local stream. He gets as much pleasure, maybe more, from catching a few small fish from a tiny unspoilt river, as from ‘bagging up’ on a well stocked artificial pond. Coarse fishing, if practiced in a more traditional way, has infinite variety, and success is not measured by the number or size of fish caught alone

The author does a grand job of making all aspects of coarse fishing easily understandable. And as a fisherman 'from across the pond' I found it very interesting to see how my British fishing cousins approach coarse fishing....from terms to tackle. A straight forward tome that I am very glad to have discovered as it expanded my understanding of fishing in general and coarse fishing in particular.

Reasons for not giving this book a higher rating is simple. The photos of the various fish species were in black and white, and some diagrams were too small to follow.
