This book has some very useful bits in it almost exclusively for Stratocaster electronics. That is where the good ends as far as being ripped off is concerned.

FIRST of all and worst of all this book can be had for free online at [...]

SECONDLY - as you can see the front cover advertises advanced "hot rod techniques for guitar" and then in small letters underneath says "A wiring guide for the Fender Stratocaster". This book has 244 pages with nine chapters. Only One chapter is on hot rod techniques. You dont get to the hot rod techniques until page 129. Before that you have pages on assembling a strat, wiring a strat, and then three chapters on switches, capacitors and potentiometers. Now; as handy to have as the pages on assembling a strat, wiring a strat, and then three chapters on switches, capacitors and potentometers goes this is not what I expected from this book based on how it is advertising itself. I feel this book is a case of false advertising. If the front cover said hotrod techniques in small letters at the bottom and in big letters A wiring guide for the Fender Stratocaster then it would make sense. I feel the reason the writer has made this false advertising is because there are a million books on stratocaster wiring and so has mis advertised to draw us in.

THIRDLY - when you use the look inside function which Amazon provides, all of the graphics in this book are in colour. The physical book itself has no single colour picture. The Reason given by the authour is to keep costs down. This makes me wonder why the book is £10.

Finally - this book is an indi published book and so there is no quality control.

If you must have the physical copy go ahead and buy it but otherwise get it for free online, at least you can spend your money on something worth it instead

I think this book has plenty of good advice and information but i was disappointed that the wiring diagrams were only black and white because it makes it awkward to follow properly.

This book is perfect for simple minds like mine - clear diagrams, step by step instructions, everything very clearly explained. I completely re-wired my strat using instructions from this book, and to my surprise it worked perfectly as soon as i plugged the jack in and started jammin!

EVERY STRAT OWNER SHOULD BUY THIS BOOK, IT IS MINT!!!!!!
