Tabby has moved to the same city as her dad after having a traumatic time at her old collage, She had gotten caught up in a sex scandal that sent her spiralling into a dark place. She is now trying to get back control of her life starting with having a one night stand... She picks Noah as the guy she want a no strings night with but things don't really go to her plan.
This is an emotional read and from Tabby's pov it has you feeling how she feels and wanting her to overcome her past. I loved this story from the very beginning and felt it grabbed hold of me and pulled me in. So much so I read it in one sitting and I am now left wondering why have I not read anything by this author before??.
It has taken me a while to trust Noah but I feel this was because I was seeing things through Tabby's eyes, I really wanted to trust and love him but I was so scared in case he let me down but I can safely say I totally love him.
I know that there is 2 more books in this series but one of the characters that really stood out for me was Michael and I would love to read his story.
There isn't anything I disliked about this book and I feel like I may have discovered a truly talented author.
5 stars for Amazon & 5 stars for Goodreads
Starting over at a new college, Tabitha is determined to stay invisible, not letting anyone in, hoping to get through school with as little drama as possible. Extremely broken from the events that took place at her old school, she finds it hard to trust, and open up to people, and even harder to let someone else take control.
Tabitha was a really amazing, and most of all a really believable character. The things that she went through at her old school were truly horrible, ostracized and alone, she had no one, and because of this I felt extremely empathetic towards her, because even though nothing like that has ever happened to me before, this book was so well written that I felt every single one of her emotions, and could completely understand everything that she was thinking and feeling. I was her!
When she initially meets Noah, he becomes part of her plan to have a one night stand in order to regain the control which was taken away from her all those months before. However, unable to go through with it, she swiftly kicks him out of her apartment hoping that she will never see him again...but obviously that doesn't happen.
Tabby soon bumps in to Noah at college, ending up partnered with him in her English Lit class and also finding him to be the boss of her newspaper internship. She clearly likes him much more than she would like to admit, but doesn't want to let herself get too close, not feeling that she can fully trust and let go of her past.Read more ›
A fantastic read. Well worth the five stars.
The story centres around Tabitha's need to regard control in her life after a previous incident the year previous. She believes she can do this by having a one-night stand with Noah, but fear stops her doing this. The two see each other around a lot and chemistry between them heightens. We get to watch Noah try to help Tabby through her issues, which is sensitively done.
The reason I didn't give this book 5 stats is, although I enjoyed reading it, it didn't blow me away or leaving me wanting to read it again. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this book and I would recommend for a romantic easy read, just not to be expecting it to be a story that stays with you long after reading it
