This story had me hooked from the first page! You meet Vi & then you meet Corbin, who are soul mates. The book takes you through the first part of their relationship where Corbin helps Vi overcome her insecurities, which are there because of her past he is her rock, whereas she's his cushion bringing out his soft side! ,They truly are an amazing couple, as the story progresses you learn the history of these people & can't help but love them even more! Vi makes a huge sacrifice, which is where this part of their story ends!
I really do wish I could go into this story more, but I honestly do not want to spoil it for anyone! Just buy & read it for yourself!! You won't regret it - pinky promise!!!
One thing I have come to like about this author is that the stories are based on unusual subjects. This book was rock climbing. I can't say I have read a story based on rock climbing before, so it was really refreshing to read.
I can't wait to follow on with book 2 when it is released. I will be sitting waiting for it to hit my kindle on release day. 😀
Well done, KD Robichaux on yet another AMAZING book!
I loved the prequel – it’s really gripping and drags you straight in to the story. You’re then taken on a much gentler journey with the adorable Vivian and amazing Corbin.
They couldn’t be much more different if they tried. She is innocent, niave and introverted. He is quiet, calm and deadly. Her naturally submissive side is drawn to the quiet dominance that surrounds him and his unspoken ability to keep her safe and protected from this frightening world.
This is a beautiful story of falling in love, something we don’t all have the luxury of. Of comfortable nights out, time spent getting to know each other, the simple pleasure of holding hands while you walk. The things you forget are important when you’re older and your life is busy. This story really brought to the fore that love doesn’t have to be about lust, of course that’s a part, but it’s only a part and not the whole.
Corbin and Vi have both struggled with things to date and I liked how they seemed to soothe and compliment each other, despite the differences.
The characters are fun and relate able while still being engaging. The story is beautiful written and leaves you dying for the next book – for which I have to wait
This is my first book by Kayla but it won’t be my last. I loved it!
Fierce....any alpha soldier will be. Our hero is fiercely loyal, fiercely protective, fiercely independent.
Compelling...I could not put the story down. More on that further down.
Extreme love....You can feel the love between our characters throughout the story, it was pure, it was genuine, it was life-altering.
Ultimate sacrifice....Not one ounce of selfishness in the heroine's body when she makes the biggest sacrifice for our Hero.
Addictive....Simply put, I want more.
Coming up with a string of words that are in any way comprehensible just aren't easy when describing this first book in a new series by KD Robichaux.
We're introduced to Vi - a socially awkward teenager who spends her spare time (and I mean ALL of her spare time) at the local rock climbing facility. Corbin arrives at the centre on a seemingly normal day for Vi but there is an immediate connection between them.
What follows is the sweetest of courtships and the deepest of loves formed through some tough times and over some hurdles.
I adored their interactions, from the moment they met to the relationship that they forged for their own personal forever.
I am guilty of watching that percentage read amount increase while reading a book. I knew this was a duet so as I approached the 100% point my unease was increasing. What I was reading was literary perfection. Vi and Corbin had their happy ever after, they had each other, they were strong together, they has trust and loyalty and an insane chemistry.
Then BOOM! What a shocking ending.Read more ›
