This is the 3rd in the Becoming Her series, but can easily read as a stand alone.
Ella has been abducted by the man who has just murdered her father. She once had a crush on him, not knowing the hate he feels for her family.
Alcott has wanted Ella from the first time he laid eyes on her, but respected her family's wishes to leave her alone, because she was only 17 years old. Now with her being abducted he will rescue her and claim her for his own.
Our heroine changes from sweet and innocent, to a vengeful woman. Will our hero be willing or able to cope with the change.?
This is a historical adventure and romance. But I found it written a bit to much like a contemporary for me. Hence the four stars instead of five.

I really enjoyed reading about Ella and Alcott. In the first two books I didn't care too much about Alcott and didn't really know enough about Ella. I found Thatcher two characters were very well suited to each other. Ella goes from a timid girl who practically knows Nothing to turning out to be quite a strong young woman. Alcott is so sweet and protective but also still has that naughty side to him which altogether makes for a great man. 5 stars for this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!!! 17 May 2015
By Wendy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Becoming Mrs.Benedict is my favorite of this series and im bummed that it's over. I really enjoyed the historic aspect, I want to believe love this fierce and powerful existed for people back then and will continue to grace the lives of those who deserve it.

Ella Merriweather is the baby of the family, and so everyone treats her as such. They think of her as the innocent, weak, little Ella. This story will prove not only to her family but herself and anyone who knows her that shes the strongest Merriweather woman their is. Through circumstances out of her control she finds herself caring for her very ill father alone and bearing this knowledge on only her shoulders. Until the day the man she thought would be hers even after he loved her sister showed up. She thinks hes there to save her, but she's so very very wrong. Will she follow her dreams of becoming Mrs.Benedict or will the man who was sworn to stay away be there to break through the darkness that threatens to take away the last shred of the Ella everyone knows.
Ella grows into a such a beautiful strong soul and follows the beat of her own drum. She's a survivor.

Alcott's brother just married the oldest of the Merriweather women. He's been sworn away from Ella. That possibly makes him want her more, or it could just be her. He doesn't feel himself worthy, yet. He makes a promise to become a man that would be MORE than enough. He proves this when he catches his falling angel and loving her back to life.

LOVE THIS SERIES!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story 19 May 2015
By Michelle - Published on Amazon.com

4-4.5 stars. Ella is the youngest Merriweather sister and the most innocent of them all as she is still living with her father and caring for him. She hasn't had time to make friends or socialize but Ella has dreams that maybe someday a prince will rescue her and give her happily ever after. Unfortunately for Ella, she is part of an evil agenda to exact revenge and is captured. From this moment forward, Ella's life turns upside down and her innocence will no longer help her to survive. Unlike her other sisters, Ella has to adapt quickly and use her wits in order to get out of a terrible situation, even if it means doing things that she would have never done before because it's a means towards escape and freedom. I admired Ella's strength and quick thinking. Alcott Dumont, Alexander's younger brother, has never forgotten the sweet girl he met at Edith and Alexander's wedding and is determined to rescue her. Because of Ella's situation, she doesn't behave anything like her sisters and Alcott is very patient with her, nothing like what Alexander perceived him as in the last book. Does Ella still have a chance at happily ever after? Has she finally met her prince? Good conclusion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Ending to a Fantastic Series! 18 May 2015
By N Miller - Published on Amazon.com

Ella is the youngest sister of the Merriweather clan and as such gets treated much like a baby. She is left to care for her father who happens to be on death’s door while her sisters are off living their happily everafters. Well obviously she wants her happily ever after too……. So when William Benedict comes knocking on her door regardless of his past relationships with her sisters, she thinks why not?

What I loved most about this story was that Ella is way beyond her time with her attitude and mannerisms and in being that way makes her character absolutely fabulous. K Webster stays true to the historical romance genre, but at the same time delivers a strong and very feisty leading lady.

Our hero totally understands his woman on every level and loves her the way she needs to be loved and for that we love him all that much more….

“I want so much more than to court you, he growls so close to my lips that I can nearly taste the wine upon his. I want to kiss you, Ella, I want to touch you. I want to f**king taste you so bad it makes me crazy.”

I absolutely loved the way this story ended. Thanks for another fantastic story, K. Webster.
5.0 out of 5 stars WHO WILL SAVE ELLA ??? !!! 14 April 2017

This is the third book in the 'Becoming Her' Series and it is fabulous. I love the interesting twists & turns the author takes through the story. Because this is a different sister, her story is very different from the other books. I love a book where I have to keep up with the plot and challenge myself to figure out what will happen next. Will the shy and naive sister remain the same? Will she find her Prince and will he save her? I highly recommend you read this amazing book to find out. It has more kick to it than the run-of-the mill romance and presents life as it could have really been in those days. The entire series is excellent and I highly recommend all three books: 'Becoming Lady Thomas', 'Becoming Countess Dumont', and 'Becoming Mrs Benedict'.

What a heartbreaking start to a story.

Although Alcott is known for not being taken seriously, he shows his true colors and levelheadedness when it comes to Ella.

After the tragedy that strikes Ella it is nice to see them both overcome this difficult time and develop the relationship they both deserve. Their story was worth the battle.
