However I did think the book was well written, the writing style is very easy to read, the narrative flows well and there were both deep and funny moments. The characters were interesting and believable and despite Ruby's attitude I liked them all. The plot moved at a good pace, fast enough to keep me engaged but not so fast it left me reeling. I haven't read any of the other 'Beautiful' books and whilst this left me seeing names of people that I was unable to connect together, it didn't impact on me being able to follow and enjoy the plot.
I do agree that Ruby was quite rude to Flynn at times but in reality we all can be when we feel scared, threatened or uncomfortable - and this is how he made her feel. Whilst her fears were a little irrational, to me they were understandable. That said Flynn must be a saint to have kept trying, although following the drunk scene he definitely had a better understanding of Ruby's problems. I'm hoping we were meant to guess Flynn's 'job' (since it was very obvious) and that the author was showing us how Ruby's mindset made her very narrow minded to him and presumptive of who he was as a person.
From the blurb I thought that the two-week deal would be the main feature of the book, but it almost drifts by unnoticed. It also doesn't take place until quite late in the book! I felt that there was a missed opportunity here for us to see Ruby starting to change (or perhaps that should be accept) her feelings for Flynn.
Despite what I've written this IS a positive review. I actually read this book over the course of one day as it did have me hooked and I will be catching up with more books by this author.
This has been a tough one, while the storyline itself is good I couldn't connect with the characters I have spent the entire time wanting to slap Ruby and knock some serious sense into a Flynn and Nate.
It took a while to really grab my attention and although it was enjoyable there has been something missing for me it started off slow and didn't really pick up much pace for me, there are moments in this story that will make you chuckle at some of the lines and quotes.
An enjoyable read from lilliana and will definitely look to read more of her work.
Ruby is not really living her life after her last boyfriend broke more than her heart. The first time Flynn sees her he really sees her & can't stay away even though she has a boyfriend.
I loved how they were together & the chemistry was off the charts.
How can he prove that she should be with him. A book worth reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I have read this series and just love it!
Flynn and Ruby's story made me cry and laugh and most of all fall in love.
Amazing job Lillian!!
As modern women, shouldn’t we be high-fiving each other and adding a notch to our bedpost instead of calling it a walk of shame?
Right now, all I’m trying to do is take all of my broken pieces and turn them into a mosaic instead of just gluing them back together in the same old shape they always were.
My late husband used to cheat with the woman who lived at the end of our street. Then his dick got too old to stand up straight and he took too many of those Viagra pills. Terrible thing having to bury a man with a giant hard-on… I wasn’t sad to see him go, really. But I was sad that I had to organize his funeral—that other woman loved him more than I did. But then, she didn’t have to wash his dirty underwear every day for fifty-six years.
Fearless and brave aren’t the same thing. Brave is doing something even though it scares you. Careful people miss out on the greatest parts of life. Trust me, I know—I’m old. Old people know everything.
‘That’s why I got you a Sphinx. They’re hairless.’ He holds up the mewing cat, scratching it under its wrinkly chin... ‘He looks like an old man’s scrotum,’ Brad comments.
Lilliana Anderson has a gift for painting vivid pictures with her words; I could clearly visualize each scene in totality as I was reading. I enjoyed catching up with the characters from previous installments, although the beauty of this series is each book has strong enough legs to stand alone, but what is the fun in that? I struggled to appreciate the main character of Ruby as she was incredibly obstinate and her unwarranted venom toward the character of Flynn was rude and arrogant to the level of mean girl – which is not one of my favorite tropes. Ruby was actually a neurotic mess with a chaotic history of lousy taste in men and a default setting of poor choices, which she was continuing to make for what she thought were the right reasons. Despite my frustrations with Ruby, the storyline was easy to follow and entertaining with welcome hits of amusing humor and a sizzling bit of salacious steam.
