5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful insight into the very early years of The Beatles 21 Jan. 2015

A great find! The average person thinks that The Beatles burst upon the scene on The Ed Sullivan Show, polished in their mohair suits. There are few books that really reveal the claw to the top that The Beatles experienced following their signed contract with Brian Epstein. Brian kept them on a merry-go-round of events that few other bands could have or would have put up with. Their days for several years were filled with 1, 2 , or sometimes 3 engagements sometimes a hundred miles apart. This book details the numerous BBC programs, interviews, and performances during the band's very early formative years. The book is very well written by some one who was there who experienced the events as they happened, without any undue insertion of themselves into The Beatle's history. Well worth the money.
