The basis of the storyline was slightly different to other Rockstar novels in that Lucky the heroine already had one big star star as a boyfriend when another comes along. She has more in common with Flynn who is just lovely. Dylan the existing boyfriend is a bit of a devil by all accounts. Flynn is signed up to temporarily replace a member of Dylan's band and it all starts off. Cheating involved so if you don't like that sort of 'Thoughtless' type situation you won't like it.

Good story, it could have been great but alas the message was received. The author could have done a better job at making us the readers understand Dylan Ryder more in order to get a clearer picture as to why Lucky didn't or couldn't love and settle for him. The case was poorly constructed. Everyone knew he was a man whore but he loved her. Fynn loved her too and I guess she was incredibly lucky her choice worked out in the end. This book had sooooo much scope but like I said the author failed to build on it. I'm still happy to give it a generous 4*.

I've read a few books by Vi, and have yet to full s one I didn't get I to straight away, and this one is no different. Lucky is a voice coach who co owns a bar called "Lucky's" with her best friend Avery. One night she spots Flynn, an Absoutely gorgeous looking guy at the end of the bar who doesn't take his eyes off her. When he asks her out, she passes it off, as unknown to him she's actually dating Dylan who is a complete egotistical jerk and the lead singer of a famous band Flynn will be supporting soon. Things get really hot when she joins Dylan for part of the tour, as neither Lucky or Flynn can keep their hands off each other. Do read this book, you will love it.

So glad I read this book as I thoroughly enjoyed it. Have been waiting for a while (since Chloe Walsh's latest) to find a book that kept me reading until the small hours, and this was it. Really good example of the genre providing strong characters, amusing dialogue and a hot sexy rocker. Some might find the fact cheating is involved off putting, but you shouldn't as Ms Keeland handles it extremely well - plus Dylan is d*ck anyway. Glad it was a standalone despite loving it as this genre of a series is often like flogging a dead horse. Definitely recommend.

So I love a good rock star book, when I read the blurb for this I new it was going to be great! I wasn't disappointed! A hot alpha male rock star and a love triangle are my perfect reading material at the moment! Flynn is the perfect rock star and boyfriend, this book is fab and right up there on my top ten of 2015 books! A must read!

Great read, love a rock star battle. Flynn wanted her but Dylan wasn't letting go easy.
Once Lucky realised her true feelings, her new path was set, she just had to get past the manipulations along the way.
Great read highly recommended

Was just ok, was a little similar to thoughtless, but sadly not as good. I did enjoy it, but it wasn't a five star for me, maybe a 3. Lucky character was slightly irritating towards the end, I just wanted her to tell Dylan, but she kept stalling. Characters didn't have a great deal of depth to them and expected more drama between lucky,Dylan and Flynn but it wasn't there. Disappointing epilogue.

*** I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***

Beat is the second book in the Life on Stage series by Vi Keeland and just like the first book in the series Throb I loved it.

Beat is Flynn Beckham’s story and I first met the rock star in Throb he was the other man vying for the leading lady’s attention. I was so excited after finishing the book and discovering that he would be getting a story. You see Flynn was never the bad guy in the other book. Unfortunately, he just wasn't the guy for the leading lady. I had felt for him times as he was a genuinely a nice guy.

I loved Flynn and Lucky Valentine together the attraction is high on both sides. Lucky believed she was happy with her own rock star boyfriend Dylan Ryder the lead singer of the band Easy Ryder until she meets Flynn. He starts to make her see things differently and it all gets a little complicated.

“A Man with good rhythm has always been my weakness. Musicians have always been my Kryptonite”

Love the sexual tension between Flynn and Lucky it was infused from the very beginning. Loved the way things developed between them. There are some heartfelt moments between these two as they spend more time together and get to know each other.

“I like her I like the way I feel when I’m around her”

“Something about Flynn Beckham makes me nervous. He’s different.”

I will warn you that yes, there is a love triangle, and there is cheating, but don’t let that stop you reading it really is worth the read. I’m not condoning the cheating, but there is more to it when it comes to Flynn and Lucky. Again, it’s a case of the heart wants what the heart wants.

“Some thing’s are just fate.
