Mythological creature, science upgradation, medical advances, genetics and a bad experiment that turn malice against the one who are not pure breed but are orphans and are getting killed for some sick research on them by one of the kind and that make things works but nature plays its role and change the whole scenario, Friends become bitter because of misunderstanding, death happens because of life unexpected turns and danger to society can change the earth by just revealing what they are and how they become that way .
All characters are cool and expert in there works like unit and happy ending comes in the ending as the truth prevail to everyone and a family started bonding between all the people.
Krishna Udayasankar knocks it out of the park again with 'Beast'. The action scenes are gripping and exciting as always. Enough so that they're shonen anime level good.
'Beast' spins a tale of a universe much like our own and yet different some key ways and it was interesting to read the author interweave mythology, fantasy and fact into this new universe. I have to admit, in the beginning I was reading in a dispassionate manner but as the story kept unfolding and twisting, I grew invested in the turns it took.
The story reads like a Hollywood produced fast-paced big budget action thriller, interspersed with some touching character moments and interactions. Krishna knows when to keep up the readers on their toes and when to let them breathe.
While many would at certain times call the twists predictable, the essence of the story for me lied not in the mystery or the chase but in the journey the protagonist, Prithvi, takes from the first page to the last page. It was as much a story about identity, be that what it may, as it was fantasy one.
The only complaint from me would be there wasn’t enough ACP Aditi Kashyap.
All in all, a fun story to curl up with if you’re in the mood to go for an adrenaline-fuelled trip.

It's a book that every writer dreamt to write. It's a book that won every readers heart in each page in each word and in each sentence.
It is an urban fantasy thriller. It is not completely but very much based on Indian myths.
Aditi Kashyap , the Asst. Commissioner Of Police is appointed to solve a triple murder case in Mumbai. The story starts with this base of murder case but later on it slowly entered into a new terrifying horrifying world, the world of Saimhas - Werelions . The Saimhas are present along side us from the begining of Ancient time without our knowledge. By the help of Prithivi she finally able to decode the case.... How all these became reality is the main suspense of the book.

Overall - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌠
I was, at first, a little narrow eyed at the premise of shape-shifting and all. But the first chapter griped me by my throat and shuffled my thoughts so much that i had to move forward while living all the prejudices behind.
This book...go blind into this. Don't even read the premise. The only thing you need to know is that this is an urban fantasy...one of its kind among Indian books that i have come across. And this is written mind blowingly.
Love how the premise was executed an the plot flow was breath taking.
In the FIRST CHAPTER itself you witness the CREATURE and so many questions are bombared at you that you have to continue with it. The THING... The BEAST is so much interesting to read.
This was me the whole time reading the book.
It’s very difficult to tell which this book fits perfectly in one genre. It has a essence of sci-fi , mythology, thriller and fantasy.
Character development is done extremely well , I loved the way how the author describes them. This book will take you in the past and the present, this book is full of suspense. Right from the beginning, I was wondering how this book will end. The end was perfect , it could have been no ,more better.
Calling all sci-fi, mythology, fantasy fans to read it and I recommend it to all.
Plot looks convincing and is about solving of triple homicide murder which happened in Mumbai suburbs as mentioned in description of book without any surprises.
The main protagonists are a good cop "Aditi Kashyap" ACP Crime Branch, Mumbai and "Prithvi" an enforcer. Villain in the plot is not a human but Werelion hence the title "Beast". Author has built charecters well and done justice to all including supporting characters. To know about protagonists, their identity / background / charecter, how they meet, why they team up, difficulties they face, how they catch the murderers etc is the essence of story so grab the book and start reading. Book leaves readers with happy feeling in the end.
Plot is very interesting, entertaining and gripping.
People who enjoy reading and watching sci-fi like werewolves, vampires, predators etc would love this book.
Let's talk about the book BEAST by KRISHNA UDAYASANKAR.
An urban adventure thriller inspired by the legend of the Narasimha Avatar and explained through Genetics.
It was always the same dream, a dream that began with darkness and blood.
When Assistant Commissioner of Police Aditi Kashyap is called upon to solve a gruesome triple homicide in a Mumbai suburb, she is dragged into the terrifying world of the Saimhas -- werelions -- who have lived alongside humans, hiding amongst them, since ancient times.
Faced with the unbelievable, Aditi has no choice but to join hands with Prithvi, an Enforcer called in to hunt down this seemingly otherworldly murderer.
But can Prithvi overcome the nightmarish burdens of his dark and violent past to unravel the mystery hidden deep within this secret world of werelions? Can he be trusted to save lives, or will he choose to serve a different, more powerful, master?
As a greater conspiracy unfolds and the very survival of humankind is placed under threat, Aditi and Prithvi must race through the dark underbelly of Mumbai -- from quiet suburbs to gritty brothels, from forgotten colonial tunnels to the lights and glamour of the inner city -- in search of a dangerous truth.
In search of a monster.
The cover could have been better.
The title of the book is "Beast" which is a good one but could have been better.

4. RECOMMENDED TO:
"The struggle start when u need to fight the beast inside"
Horrors spread in lively city of mumbai...
When three dead bodies, all having extensive files on them, known as members of rival gang had been found in bits and pieces near Mumbai Pune Highway...And faces turned green and yellow with shock when one of the body of most feared goon name "Rajan"
Though goons have more than one rivals...But the Bodies were torned out...
Possibilty that it didnr seem a work of human or it was just frame to disguise and confuse the police...
But whoever did whether human or animal had a "beast" inside him
The book is #fiction read introducing creature name "simha" which is influence by the avatara of vishnu "Narsimha"
And the story revolves around the horrific killings and its investigation where the only eye witness claims he has seen a lioness...
The book introduces well planned characters Prithvi who is enforcer ;Aditi who is lead Police Investigating office and a Secrecy maintained around a name Noor.
The is well pierced while introducing itself with past of every characters making storyline very interesting...
Prithvi childhood was something which ought to bring unexplained emotions to its reader making his character justified in time being.
👹the books has a good phase maintained can be felt little slow until u found your grip
👹the narration and language is still and simple
👹the book can be good for thriller and fictional reader
👹i didnt like the cover because its not eye catching.
Author: Krishna Udayasankar
A "Bloody" Good Book.
The book opens with a horrific even; bodies shredded into pieces, heads chopped off, skull eaten, and then what unfolds is a very well written story.
The plot is quite interesting. The writing does not fail to intrigue the reader. This book is definitely a page turner.
The characters are very interesting and layered. The book goes much beyond the general notion of a thriller, it devolves into a world of human emotions, a mix of mythology and science, and a experiment that goes wrong.
The cover is good enough to generate curiosity in the mind of the reader. But the real USP of the book is Krishna Udayasankar's writing, she doesn't let the readers down. In all, I recommend this book for anyone who wants to read a thriller, or is looking for some company on a flight.
•The main plot twist of the book is so amazing I couldn't decipher it till the last and when I read it I was shook.
•The book is divided into sections by name of characters. Also the author has given alot detailing about the werelions.
•The narration is so smooth that it isn't at all confusing when the story goes in past situations.
•I didn't liked Prithvi at first but as I got halfway through the book I started loving him. The author made it sure that it was hard not to love him.
•The book is fast paced and Very addictive. This book actually bring me out of my reading slump
•The way Krishna udayasankar has written her dialogues, the lines, every emotions in this book is mind-blowing.
•I haven't read Indian crime or Indian fantasy at all so this book exceeded my expectations.

This is probably one of the most intriguing and nail biting book I've read in the recent past. The theme of the book is so fascinating that you can't stop reading even for once.
I have heard about werewolves before but this book introduced me to the world of werelions or the Saimhas. It's really a fascinating world but they have their restrictions and many rules and regulations which they must abide by to thrive peacefully. The storyline is weaved with so much care and the intricacies are so well designed that it kept me on the edge throughout.
The beast part of the book apart from the storyline is definitely the characters. They are very much well built and each characters are provided with their backstories and those are extremely well written. There are a few chapters which are slowly paced to tell about the characters perfectly but other than those all the chapters proceed with a breakneck speed.
The narration is perfect and tied the whole story beautifully. The language is so lucid and it made the prose so much interesting to read. Moreover this is a book which has an unique concept and I loved the whole of it.
This title intrigues me to read this book it looks like an crime thriller but it is way beyond that. I like how Krishna Udayashankar moulds story with mythology ,lot of facts described through them. The story of Narsimha and Prahlad gives an intresting twist to this book.
This story has lot of emotions in between a murder mystery there is love story, betrayal and friendship too. Each thing is written so beautifully that it can keep you hooked till the end. Krishna writing style is crisp and up to the point, there is no point of time like I thought of story was streched or something.
Storyline:ACP Aditi Kashyap is called upon to solve a gruesome triple murders in mumbai suburb. She was shocked to saw the crime scene as it didn't look like murder by a human its like some animal killed them. Prithvi an enforcer is hired to search and killed the killer, but together both dragged to world of saimahs -werelions and there is many more that you have to read this book.
I really like the humorous dialogues by Prithvi and all scenes are written perfectly.
Language is simple and lucid .Narration is crisp and clean.
I really like the characters Prithvi, Aditi, Bhutani, Chandani n Dr Acharya, all characters come out very well and little little things about them described perfectly.
So I recommend this book to everyone inspite of this genre you liked it or not.
Blurb: ACP Aditi Kashyap is being called to solve a triple murder case when she starts investigating, she is dragged into the world of Werelions the case keeps on getting different with terrifying events later on to solve the case and decode the mystery she joins Prithvi who himself has a dark past.
Beast by Krishna Udayasankar is a fantastic read with a thrilling combination of suspense and action. The book was a fast paced read hence making it more enjoyable. The book maintains it's story plot and keep the readers hooked till the end.
The interesting part of the story is human transformation into Saimhas the words used will describing the scenes is the major plus point of the book.
Book cover: It's perfect as per the plot of the story and totally does the justice.
Plot: The plot is strong as we get to read myth and science in an amazing thrilling way.
Writing style: 4/5
Characters development: 3.5/5
Set in gritty, struggle laden Mumbai (which I believe is a city, where people, quite unnecessarily, take pride in struggle for the sake of struggle and a city which is not to everyone's taste), Krishna brings to life, very believably, the half -human half- mythological characters in the backdrop of this city with all its glory and its grime. The story lurches and careens and races towards the climax, which is both satisfying and cathartic, and thus takes us along for a great ride. I was surprised as to how much dark realism has been put into the story and the characters, and the societal background which makes the characters, even if some of them are only half-human, very realistic and believable.
