There has been, as often is, a few changes the movie made in comparison to that of the book. I can see why, as sometimes it's just not as easy to put words to screen and create the same feeling as that imagery in one's own imagination. Though I say I can understand the changes, from a movie point of view, I am glad I got to see this version and have to say I prefer it.
I would recommend this book to any lover of books, regardless of preferred genre!
Firstly the main character is well written. The book is written from his point of view and draws you in and gets you emotionally invested.
Secondly the story is great, it develops well at a good pace and keeps you interested with a gripping ending.
Thirdly on a personal note I read this book for the first time 10 or so years ago and it is the only book I've read that on finishing I instantly started it again, I mean straight from the last page back to the first, it's that good.
Buy this book, read it, tell your friends. Simple.
