About the Author

Tariq Ramadan teached philosophy and Islamic Studies at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). He has been engaged in the debate about the place and situation of Muslims in the West, and he regularly contributes to reflections on the 'awakening of Islam' in Muslim majority societies.
