    This book is absolutely essential for any Bayonetta fan. The level of detail in the guide text is second to none. There is little technical gameplay information available on-line for this game, but this book fills the void perfectly. For example there's over three pages on how to extend your air combos, with intricate walkthroughs, colour pictures and even video links explaining each step.

    The collector's edition of the guide is wonderfully presented with a hard cover and even has Bayonetta's hair ribbon for a bookmark!

    I look forward to going back through the game on non-stop climax mode with this guide at my side!

    First off, let me begin by saying that I purchase the official strategy guide along with virtually every video game that I own for - if nothing else - collector's value. Some of them are exemplary; some of them are horrendous. Regardless, I buy them simply to shelve them along with my games as I am an admitted compulsive collector of video game paraphernalia. With that said, let me say that the Bayonetta Collector's Edition Guide by Future Press is near perfect, and at the top 5 of my all-time favorite video game strategy guides. The presentation? Impeccable. The information within? Studious. The bonus material, featuring the interview with Kamiya-san and Hashimoto-san? Hilarious, and (accidentally) informative! Buy this book today, NOT tomorrow, with no second-guessing in your purchase or the money you spent...

    For anyone who wants to master Bayonetta totally and utterly, this is the book to get. It will even make Angels beg for your mercy. It's that good.

    This is a hardcover guide with over 400 pages, including a 32 art and interview section. The book even has a ribbon bookmark, an imitation of Bayonetta's hair ribbon. There's also a nifty quick reference card which I use as my second bookmark. Actually, there's so much information I'm using three bookmarks.

    This is a very thorough guide covering everything from weapons, combos, accessories, strategies, combat techniques, enemies, strategies, secrets and of course the walkthrough. The main chapters are Scenario Guide, Pure Platinum Battle Guide, Angels, Combat Guide and Secrets.

    Future Press really did a fantastic job with the Scenario Guide or walkthrough, which is concise and easy to follow along. If you want to retain the element of surprise during the first play, you can just use the maps to locate all the items and the hidden Alfheim Portals. Finding the hidden Alfheim Portals without any guide will be a bit difficult as some of them appear only under certain situations. Note that under different game difficulty, item locations are sometimes different.

    Chapter 3, The Pure Platinum Battle Guide, details the requirements for the Platinum rank and the strategies for every verse, under the Normal, Hard and Non-stop climax mode. This and enemy section are incredibly useful when facing grueling boss fights. This section is for the serious gamers who want test their limits.

    My recommendation when reading the guide is to go first to the combat section to understand the weapons, combos and combo scoring. For a character, Bayonetta has more combos than any Street Fighter characters. The combat guide sections doesn't just list the moves, but also goes through the good and bad about them. This game isn't about combos, it's about combos of combos, and you can learn them here in detail.

    And finally, there's the interview with Bayonetta's Director Hideki Kamiya and Producer Yusuke Hashimoto. There are also some cool concept art for the game included.

    Overall, this guide is really great because it feels like it was written by a gamer who had actually spent hundreds of hours on the game.

    Highly recommended to all Bayonetta fans. Well worth the money.

    Two stars is all I can give for this book. I admit, mostly because the game it is about sucks big time. Since I hate to wait until a Strategy Guide arrives, I usually order game and guide at the same time. Usually that works out great, but when the game is worthless, so is the guide. My 'second star' is just for that: the book may be better than the game.

    I love strategy guides; from where I'm at I can count over twenty, and this is far and away the best strategy guide I've ever seen. It's beautiful, extremely detailed, and it omits the pages and pages of useless fluff common to larger American Strategy guides. That isn't too say it's small, it's HUGE, just packed with desirable information. The information in here is extremely useful from start to finish and comes off as a labor of love. I don't know who this company is but I wish they would make strategy guides for the US, because we can't compare.

    Thirty bones and shipping seems extremely steep for a strategy guide, and it is, but in case you hadn't heard, this is a European guide because the American Guide Manufacturer had some sort of issue and it went largely unreleased. So not only is it an amazing piece of video game guidance, it is a rare import as well.

    It is also worth mentioning that Bayonetta is deep enough to merit a guide such as this, many of the nuances of the game don't come out so well on gamefaqs: here they're clear, concise, and include the type of advice that you get from someone who really knows the game, instead of the standard BS "Aim for the head to do more damage!" that's regurgitated from the in game tutorial.

    I would agree that all valid reviews have criticisms, because nothing is perfect, but seriously, I can't think of anything to criticize here. This guide will make your other guides seem pathetic in comparison. That's definitely true. You'll wonder how the **** you're going to get more of these guides from Europe, that's going to be a negative as well.

    Buy this right now. However hyperbolic the above sounds, I mean every word of it without exaggeration.

    Bayonettaの海外版の攻略ガイドです。
    ハードカバーでA4サイズ、400ページ超の本という事でとても重いですが、中身もそれに比例して濃いです。

    注意点として、攻略記事はすべて英語で書かれています。（当たり前の話ですね）
    ゲーム内容には日本語版と海外版の違いは無いので攻略はそのまま通用します。
    チャプターごとの攻略はもちろん、高難易度攻略やタイムアタックについても書かれています。
    全体的に画面写真やイラストが多く使われていて、分かりやすく楽しめる構成になっていると思いました。

    敵や武器、コンボ、スコアシステムについてのデータが豊富で、日本で出ている公式ガイドよりも詳しいから驚きです。
    また要所ごとにあるMovie CodeをWebサイト上で入力することにより攻略ムービーが見られるのも画期的で面白く、役立ちます。
    巻末にはディレクターの神谷氏とプロデューサーの橋本氏へのインタビュー記事も10ページほどあります。

    最初は値段が高いなと思いましたが、実物を見ると納得の値段、期待以上の出来でした。

    The guidebook is just so much more then your average guidebook. Sure it dosen't come with a poster, but it makes up for it with its amazing extras. Reasons why this book is worth the money.

    Well written, this is a large book with so much content, you can really tell they worked hard to bring you the best experience possible.

    Nice extras such as an intview with the developer and video help on the website with the special codes in the book.

    Cons:

    I wish it was avalible at local bookstores so I wouldn't have to import it, but that wasn't a problem.

    The binding is a bit farther then most books from the hardcover and the book is quite heavy on the binding, yet its sturdy and dosen't show signs of ripping of any sort.

    Overall this is an amazing book that I would reccomend as not only a guidebook filled with content and maps, but as a collectors item because of the detailed analysis and concept art.
