- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 August 2016Like everyone else, I didn't really care much for this movie at the cinema. On hearing that a whopping 30 minutes were to be added in the Bluray release, I pre-booked it. Now, I love this movie! They quite literally removed the story in the theatrical release; to make way for the special effects. What a completely, stupid error, but very becoming of a JJ Abrams style, Hollywood mess.
Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill do a fab job, only to be let down by the money makers, who think they know what they want. Reminds me of that Ghostbusters farce.
Batman vs Superman, welcome back to the fray.
BE AWARE:- Think you're future proofing your purchase buying 4k? Think again, the Bluray supplied is the theatrical release. Only the 4k version is the extended. Another completely pathetic oversight. Why? Who is the twit who thinks this stuff up???
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 November 2016I really love this film. I prefer a darker more realistic Superman to match the Chris Nolan Batman films. Picture quality is stunning mostly but the 4K quality is limited by the film grain from the original. The extended cut is a long watch but I prefer it to the cinema print. One slight issue I have with all the superhero movies though is that given the actors work out for months and months at a serious effort, they either don't have a shirtless scene at all or its so brief you cannot appreciate the efforts that have been made. I feel sorry for Henry Cavill as i'd want to show off my physique after 6 months intensive work.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 October 2017Great but they try to juggle too many things at once. Justice League crap is forced and Superman is dour Brit. Cavill is trash. Batfleck was great but had crappy lines. CGI very good. Luthor mèh, Brian Cranston would've done it if you asked nicely. Lois is hot, Jimmy Olsen gets his brains blown out, that was fun. Ok but too 2016, too much useless politics, gay men kissing and the obligatory dumb slo-mo from Snyder. Score is also trash and all over the place.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 October 2016The difference between Marvel and DC movies is quite simple...
Marvel are OTT rely on comedic value and relies heavily on CGI fight scenes that look fake as hell and are lighthearted family movies.
DC are dark and gritty and are just starting out and I believe that over time they will get much better.
Sure the plot of this film was a little off but Ben Affleck definitely saved this movie and the introduction of wonder woman has me hyped for the next few installments from DC.
Personal opinion... I really enjoyed this movie and recommend it to all

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 March 2018Love this presentation of this movie. 4K lifts it to a different level. Not by any means a perfect movie, and I’m still annoyed by a couple of things ( ie. Doomsday & Lex) but these can be overlooked to a degree given that these are old gripes which have been somewhat rectified in later films (Justice League). Giving this 5 stars because the original Blu-ray version would have got 4, but this version amps things up. 4K all the way. Recommended.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 August 2016Not a review of the ultimate cut of the movie (which i love and give 5 stars) as such but rather what you get in the 4k version.
So you get the ultimate cut on the 4k Blu-ray disc as expected but my main issue is that the second disc containing the standard HD Blu-ray is only the Theatrical version of the movie. Nowhere on Amazon does it state the movie is split this way, meaning that anyone wanting the ultimate cut on 4k and Blu-ray has to buy the movie twice.
Why WB would make such a decision and Amazon not list its contents correctly is beyond me.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 September 2021A must have for Superman or batman fans, along with Man of Steel and and Snyders cut justice league..
Just disappointed the case was broken as I tend to keep my things nice.

Javier Villegas Jr.Reviewed in the United States on 28 April 20215.0 out of 5 stars Best version to experience.
This is definitely the best way to watch this film. Those added 30-40 minutes really fills in all the disjointed plot holes and sloppy editing of the theatrical release. As with most Zack Snyder films, his absolute best work comes through when he is not limited by studio mandates and time constraints, especially when working with a solid script by Chris Terrio. This film also provides more set up for that original dark future that was depicted in Snyder's Justice League. Jesse Eisenburg's Lex Luther actually comes across as an evil genius and not a spastic twerp in a bad wig. Batfleck is phenomenal.
AVGReviewed in the United States on 5 March 20215.0 out of 5 stars This movie is pretty awesome!
I really love this movie. It’s, definitely, the best of Zack Snyder’s DC films. And the 4K disc (which is the ultimate edition only) looks great!

Grant MorganReviewed in the United States on 2 October 20204.0 out of 5 stars Seller good, product good
Product came within a lot of time, but with a thumbprint smudge on the disk and something that looked like food residue. Was able to be wiped off and seems to work OK, but wish that that had been checked before it came to my door. Otherwise everything was fine
I know a lot of people hate this film, but I can’t say enough good about it. And I’m glad I’ve got it on 4K now. Just need to get a better TV!
