Product Description

Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, the first two critically acclaimed games of the franchise.

Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, players will meet many important characters for the first time and forge key relationships.

To start off I am an Arkham veteran, having played all and 100% completed of the console titles and this is most definitely an Arkham game. This is an entirely single player game, it does not have any multiplayer components what so ever e.g. an online scoreboard like Asylum or City. The fact that this is a portable game is amazing, it has some of the best graphics on the 3DS, I own a 3ds xl and it looks great on it.
The game has the voice cast from Origins, with Troy baker standing out as the Joker. The combat system is almost as smooth as its big brothers on the xbox 360 and ps3, with the only complaint i have about it being that it has been simplified witch means that you cannot perform quick fire gadgets and take downs in your combo any more. But the combat makes you feel powerful, especially when you get some upgrades for those gauntlets.
The story I wont go into much so don't worry no spoilers here, but i will say that its good and follows on from Origins nicely, but play Origins first if you have it.This game took me about 6 hours to complete but I still have quite a few collectibles to find. Every time you find a set of collectibles you unlock art work which is a nice thing to have. The predator gameplay returns as well and feels just the same as the console versions. The detective mode also returns, you have to use the touch screen to activate it to look for clues on the environment e.g a gun shot casing or foot prints.
The list of villains is good and they are as follows; The Joker,The Penguin,Catwomen,Blackmask,Bronzetiger,Dead Shot, and somebody I wasn't expecting. This game is intended for mature gamers and kids could not do it.
And finally the 3d effect works really well but instead of coming out at you it gives things more perspective, and is the only game I have played with the 3d on from start to finish.
In short this game is a worthy edition to the Arkham series and is a must have for fans of the series and 3ds owners alike.

This cost just over £6. Some people say its a bit short, some complain its not the same as the full console Batman games ....... but back in the real world its a fun 3D 3DS game with a solid Batman theme at a bargain basement price. Get over it and enjoy the game.

As a young adult , I find it somewhat of a challenge to find a 3ds game which is both mature and fun , this game is for the late teens plus . It is both action packed and gets the brain working too . Classic batman , very good graphics for the 3ds , reasonable new price for the game . I'm loving the game ...
So I'm 79% in and
Bam ... A glitch happens after saving a
Hostage in the industrial .. it keeps ticking
Down the time
Bomb Instructing you to rescue the hostage when you already did and
Game over you're at the same check point over and over and over ... . There is no way to progress the game .. So I started from the beginning again anyway after much frustration ... hopefully going
Through the game in a different order may able me to finish the game .. Right ? Who cares Im enjoying it anyway ..
However if you really want a decent game that WORKS .. And If you feel the need to finish without you tubing the ending ... Don't buy .. It's like an anti climax

There is a glitch in the game which after beating Black Mask, won't allow me to progress any further. If I open the door I need to go through to continue through the game, Batman just freezes and I cannot continue. This glitch isn't just in my copy of the game, many people have experienced the same thing and cannot progress beyond that point. In fact, there are several glitches which stop you from progressing but I have only experienced one. Apparently, the designers knew about this glitch and still released the game anyway. That's too bad because I was finding the game quite enjoyable. If you decide to buy the game, just know there's a good chance you won't be able to finish it. The game itself I would rate 4 out of 5 but because the game is faulty and it was released by the game makers with the fault known to them, I'm only giving this 1 out of 5.

Although this is a great Batman game, fantastically adapted from the main Arkham series for portable consoles it contains a game breaking glitch which Warner Brothers refused to address despite the developer urging them to release a patch. I attempted to contact both the developers and Warner Brothers and received no response so I am left to either start my game over again and hope that I don't encounter this glitch again (it's random so no guarantees) or just give up playing it entirely.

The game was good but not so good I'd want to play it all over again to get back to where I was. A real shame as I was enjoying it immensely before that.

I'm a big fan of the metroidvania genre. However I was disappointed witeh this game. The main problem I found was the general slow pace of Batman when you control him. It makes combat and exploring a chore, which are the main features of the game. The combat in particular is a bit of a disaster, with the game not able to tell which enemies you're targeting at times. Like I said, I'm a big fan of the genre but to be honest if you want a handheld metroidvania game then the digital only Guacamelee is vastly superior.
