British gangster thriller. Danny (Freddie Connor) works on the door of East End nightclub Baseline. His work consists mainly of breaking up fights and dealing with drunks - until one day he saves his gangster boss Terry (Jamie Foreman) from the bullet of a hitman. Danny is rewarded for his silence by a swift promotion, but the price of loyalty ultimately proves to be far higher than he expected.

Great performances by Dexter Fletcher, Jamie Foreman, Gordon Alexander, with Gary Stretch minus teeth and tattooed, and Gemma Atkinson in a fleece!
Really lush picture and sound on Blue Ray.
Well worth a watch, makes a welcome change from the many formulaic gangster geezer movies out there.
That said,Foreman WAS quite convincing in his role as Terry the local Mr.Nasty Crime Boss,as were Dexter Fletcher and Gordon Alexander who could never put a foot right.Zoe Tapper added the eye candy though she IS a very good actress to boot I have to say.The film about a nightclub, its bouncer Danny dreaming along with his girlfriend Jessica (Zoe Tapper) of better things in the not too distant future. Those dreams are suddenly scuppered by the need to "rescue" his best friend Paul who is in debt to the sloth Terry.
The reason I have only given 1 star to what is for the most part a quite decent British-made,realistic,down-to-earth gangster film is a)because I wonder where someone like Danny, who has shown throughout the film that he is not as nasty as Terry and his aides, physically whincing when some of their brutality is meted out would get the explosives from? How would he know how to assemble it? There is no hint he was a Soldier? b)the resultant explosion was more akin to a molotov cocktail.SEMTEX OR SIMILAR WOULD HAVE BLOWN THE CAR APART.DISINTEGRATED IT! This single mistake/fact for me spoiled the whole film.
Can't fault it!
It takes all sorts, but I'm not sure where the 1 negative reviewer is coming from- the cast is made up of really well respected British actors who bring an unparalleled sense of realism to this film, and some super performances. Yes, the storyline is not the most original but it's still very well executed, and never seems clichéd.
