The perfect compliment to Miguel Migs Nude Dimensions Volume 1...showcasing the highest quality (as well as unreleased) mixes from Naked Music's inception to present. Bare Essentials showcases a broad spectrum of tracks from the Naked back catalog. Featured on the compilation are tracks from Summerland, Petalpusher (Migs), Blue Six, Groove Collective and Night Source as well as some out of print remixes and exclusive edits. This is an introduction to the Naked Music story so far... Check it out!!!!!

HASH(0x8a00921c) out of 5 stars Just add Courvoisier! 21 Nov. 2000

I'm sure the 'Ladies' Man,' Leon Phelps owns all of the Naked Music CDs. This little label has got it down to a formula. Every tune carries the spirit of 70s disco/house without a trace of polyester or sleaze. "Bare Essentials" is just the sexiest house you've heard in a long time! Folks, this ain't no "French Kiss," it's smooth, soulful and transcending.
Imagine yourself in a penthouse high above New York City dancing for hours with that special someone...this is the soundtrack! It's urban, uplifting, chic, classy, smooth, sexy...there's really no other way to describe it. And in a time where MP3 and web-music threatens the album as an artistic object, Naked Music brings back arty packaging! Notably, it's worth tracking down the vinyl singles of these cuts; they fit the warmth of vinyl grooves like a glove.
Hot summer parties, cozy winter evenings by the fireplace dancing...there's no amorous occasion that wouldn't require at least a few Bare Essentials.

HASH(0x8a009468) out of 5 stars Groovy, Funky, Housy, Jazzy... But mostly SEXY ! 27 Jun. 2005
By Amazodonte - Published on Amazon.com

Hmmmm, I'll have another vodka martini please. Straight-up, a couple of olives...

I hate to review this album and say what's been said before but I have to. This is a CD you MUST own if you like sexy house music. You can call this one downtempo lounge, midtempo, deep house, or whatever you want to call it... It doesn't matter. One thing is for sure: IT IS SEXY. This is a beautiful selection of HOUSE tracks you can chill to, SMOKE to, drink to, think to, make love to (of course), and dance to. You'll find here flutes, strings, funky bass, housy beats, and very sexy vocals that make this compilation a must have if you're into quality electronic music.

It is not perfect, but it is quite good.

HASH(0x8a0096a8) out of 5 stars House+ Funky + Chill + ... 1 Aug. 2003

The tracks included have a funky feeling, the bass sometimes is house like, others more funky, the Blue Six tracks are excelent ... but the others are not that high level, that's why I put 4 stars.
A good point is that you can listen many times without getting bored, this is something difficult to find with this style of music!
you really feel like moving your feet with this elegant and sensual music,I recommend it for those who like Brand New Heavies, Incognito, with a house&funky touch

HASH(0x8a009c24) out of 5 stars Highly recommended 10 Jan. 2003
By TH SF - Published on Amazon.com

This CD was recommended to me in a music shop while I was vacationing in Whistler. There are atleast 4 standout songs, and the rest of the cd grows on you the more that you listen to it. Then imagine, to my surprise, that one of my favorite songs was actually featured on one of the latest episodes of Sex and the City. If you like lounge house music without too much electronica, this collection of music is for you.
