- New & Improved, from my reviews (up to review 29) and others on Amazon it is clear the biggest problem with this type of chin up bar is the 2 parts that make up the middle bar.
- This makes it harder to put together and creates a weak spot in the middle of the bar where the two parts join.
- The main bar on the Barbarian Extreme Door Bar is ONE unit, which makes it much easier to put together, and removes the weak spot in the middle.
- This item is only made for Valhalla Fitness, any other member is selling a fake Slip-in design adjusts to fit most doorframes from 24 to 32 inches wide without screws High-grade steel construction with Comfort Grip technology.
- The handles are made from "non brittle" rubber so are soft enough for a comfortable hold but hard enough to last a lifetime. As the handles are rubber they should limit damage to doorframes.

The Barbarian Extreme Door Bar from Valhalla Fitness provides an inexpensive way to tone and build muscles at home, without large equipment or marring your doorframe with installation screws. Designed to slip into doorways from 24 to 32 inches wide, it can be installed anywhere you have a sturdy doorframe (if there is a wall to the right of left this bar will not fit). Thanks to the multi-position design, you will be able to develop your back, chest, shoulders, arms, and abdominal compound muscles with one simple piece of equipment. In addition to traditional pull-ups and chin-ups, the bar allows you to perform closed-wide angle and hammer grips as well as multiple leg raises and oblique curls. Built to last, the bar is constructed of high-grade steel with Comfort Grip technology for a secure and pain-free grip. The maximum weight capacity is 100kg within a sturdy doorframe. There is a MASSIVE range of pull-ups possibilities (see YouTube), but as most people cannot perform even basic pull-ups, the variety these can offer is not utilized. Anyone can perform any pull up with the help of resistance bands. If you would like more information or multi purchase discounts please contact Valhalla Fitness.

I bought this to improve my chin-ups as I can simply bash out a few every time I go past it at home, slowly building up the overall volume I can do in a day/week, rather than only training when I go to the gym. It's very convenient in that sense and also, if you rest it on the floor you can use it for push-ups as well using the hammer grips. It says you can do leg raises on it too - but not really, unless you have a very high door frame to hang it off. As for sit-ups - nah! Don't bother, this really is just for pull-ups and push-ups. In any case, in my opinion sit-ups are better done without wedging your feet under anything.
Delivery - I chose standard 3-5 days. I received it the next day so very good.
Packaging - Box, cellophane. Fine.
Product - Solid construction, easy to assemble (10 mins). As with many of these home-use bars, the foam seems a bit thin so I'll see how I go. If it wears out, I'll just get some tennis racket grip and wrap it around the handles, or use exercise gloves. I couple flakes of paint near the screw holes came of it when I first put it under tension, but I'm not really bothered.
Use - When you first hang off it, it will flex a little as it takes your weight (although at 91kg I'm not far of it's max load capacity of 100kg), but it's fine once you begin to exercise.Read more ›
Firstly, the overlap of the J bars isn't necessary, and all they do is create two pressure points that destroy your door frame. If your door frame is situated anywhere around their 76mm spacing, it will be damaged. I spoke directly with the designer who didn't seem to understand the problem, insisting my door was too wide, then too narrow!
Ignoring the fact that some of the screws were also broken, the second flaw is that the bar dips downward, whereas an upward tilt would give the bar more height and create more clearance for your feet from the floor. Again, the designer doesn't seem to understand this.
Thirdly, the bar is quite thin, which makes it more difficult to develop grip strength. The plastic tubing prevents tools such as fat gripz being added, although you could use something like towels to thicken the bar.
Lastly, I find the design of the plastic tubing unhelpful. If you want your chin ups to be easier, then the grooves in the plastic will help (although contributing to thicker calluses!), but I find I'd rather build up a stronger grip and not "cheat" in my pull ups.
Overall, the bar will serve a basic purpose of performing pull ups with 4 possible hand positions. However, judging by the hype in the description, I would say the bar isn't worth any more than cheaper alternatives on the market. With modifications it could be so much better.
So far no marks or dents on my doors. I weight 86kg.
The multiple positions are a huge plus compared to other models that are right up close to the frame where it would be hard to get the right position for one's head to be in.
Also the rubber handles look and feel cheap.
Only drawback is that as I'm quite tall (6' 3") and you can only place it as high as your door frame meaning you may have to double up a bit when fully extended, however thats not the products fault.
