Product Description

Our bamboo knitting needles are a great, affordable introduction to knitting. They are smooth to the touch, lightweight and easy to hold. Bamboo is a natural material that is made up of oodles of tough vertical fibres. The strength and flexibility of bamboo knitting needles is said to improve with age, so the more you knit, the smoother they become.Wooden needles are very popular with knitters who suffer from sore wrists, arthritis or rheumatism because they flex when you knit.

If you havent knitted with bamboo before, only metal, then go for it - the lightness, the quietness, and the way the stitches slide but dont slip all over the place is something you have the experience.

These are a good set of bamboo needles, they arent as sharp as some of the harder woods, but are great for thicker wools that split on too sharp needles.

I am knitting a jumper and with metal knitting needles the stitches kept making the needles fall out of my hand - I knit in a very weird way! These needles meant that the stitches stay on the needle as they are not as smooth as metal ones. Highly recommended.

I needed some 2.75mm knitting needles fast and the only ones available for overnight delivery were these bamboo needles. I read the reviews and was anticipating a good pair of needles. And in many ways they are. They are lightweight, fairly sturdy and quiet. But I found I couldn't get on with them - they weren't sharp enough, so trying to pick up a stitch to passover another was difficult - but the main problem I had with them was that they were 'sticky' - the stitches didn't move easily along the length of the needle. This irritated me enough in the end that I went out and bought steel needles to swap over.

Still you don't know until you try and enough people seem to like them, so perhaps it's just me.

I love knitting with bamboo needles. They are smooth, warm, quiet and much nicer to work with than metal. When I broke one of my 4.5mm needles I ordered a new set right away.
4 days later an A2 size corrugated cardboard parcel arrived. It was enormous! I couldn't think what I'd ordered that needed such a huge package. It contained only the needles.
I used them that day. The ends are so rounded and blunt it was hard slotting them into each stitch and when I came to do anything more complicated than basic knit - and when I came to cast off - they were nigh on impossible. Bamboo needles are for making your work nicer and easier, not a battle.
I've binned them and bought a better, sharper pair.

Sometimes bamboo needles are hard to get with the shortage of craft shops in some areas. These fit the bill and save lots of wasted trips

Bamboo needles are terrific. The stitches do not slip off the needle and so there is very little chance of dropping a stitch. Excellent equipment for beginners, as steel needles are very slippery.
