About the Author

If you ask Kasi Blake how old she was when she started writing, she will probably say twelve. That's when she wrote her first short story. But it started long before then. Her first characters were invisible friends she played with as a child. In the third grade she wrote a one-page story about a mummy for an assignment, and the teacher read it to the class. Even though she was embarrassed, the other kids laughed in all the right places, and she realized she could affect other people through her writing. She loves to get lost in emotional stories, crying and laughing with the characters, so she thinks it's the most amazing thing in the world to be able to do this for other people. Originally from California, she resides in the Midwest on a farm with cows, chickens, ducks, a dog, and two cats.

This book is really well written and the different characters re brought to,life in such a way you feel you are there with them. A young girl and. Slightly older man fall in love and want to,live happily ever after. If only it was so easy. Will they be able to overcome all the obstacles between them in the real world and in the spiritual world - I don't know but I Will buy the next book to find out.

I downloaded this as a free book an it was the best free read I ever read.all I can say is wow! It made u want to laugh and cry I. Could not put it down there were surprises at every turn an kept me hooked all the way through. The two main characters were great Bay a strong female lead who was sassy and strong but not irritating like most female leads and Nick the handsome hero and love interest he kept trying to stay away but couldn't and the ending was very sad just when things were working in their favour fate steps in an ruins it I was nearly in tears at the end.I think k c Blake is one of the best story tellers I have come across this year just read it if you.like a paranormal romance with a difference it will keep you hooked until the end just downloaded the second book and can't wait to start so I'm going now so I can happy reading.

Hear Van Helsing's name in any context and I immediately assume vampires, but in Bait K C Blake has used elements from the traditional paranormal genre and added her own interpretation, creating a story which is imaginative and original.
Bait is not a straightforward YA paranormal story; the characters have secrets and are flawed; the plot is sophisticated and difficult to predict and the world of Van Helsing's castle is mysterious but enchanting.
I enjoyed the way in which the story has several threads running through, although at times I felt the main plot became overshadowed by secondary events and it is possible for a reader to lose focus.
K C Blake has concentrated very hard in Bait on developing relationships between characters, which I think enables the reader to build a stronger emotional connection to the story. I am looking forward to seeing how she continues this in the sequel.
I found Bait a really good paranormal story because of K C Blake's unique take on the genre; the interesting characters who have depth and the mystery of the plot. One I definitely recommend!
This was received as a review copy, but this has had no influence on my opinion.
