This is certainly not the cheapest pruning saw available but I bought it because Bahco has such a good reputation. I have not been disappointed. It cuts only on the pull stroke but it gets the job done quickly and easily. The handle is very comfortable and the blade is strong and stable in spite of the smallish size and light weight of the saw. The relatively small size does mean that it is very manoeuvrable. I have used it to prune overgrown conifer and hawthorn hedge branches where a lopper could not cope with those in excess of 1.5 inches in diameter in addition to fruit trees. It comes with a sheath for which I was very grateful, for it is a viciously sharp blade.

I've used it a lot over the last year for clearing my garden and sawing logs, cutting through many small tree trunks up to about 200mm diameter. The aggressive toothing arrangement, blade shape and low-friction coating allow you to cut through wood amazingly quickly and easily and it feels good in the hand - it's become one of my favourite tools. For smaller logs I use this in preference to my chainsaw - not quite as quick but a lot safer, quieter and provides some excercise. After a while the low-friction coating starts to wear off the blade and this causes the performance to fall off a bit but it's still very good after a year of heavy cutting. Not the cheapest of its kind but definietely a quality tool, much better made and noticeably quicker-cutting than my neighbour's cheaper version. If it got lost or broken I'd buy a new one like a shot - what better recommendation can I give?

I bought this to prune my very overgrown walnut tree. Climbing around in the tree, I prefer to use this handsaw rather than a chainsaw as this handsaw is just easier to climb with and is more manoeuvrable. It cuts extremely efficiently, both thick and thin branches, with basically no effort on my part.

As I've decided to completely remove the tree, I'm not just pruning anymore but felling, and I believe I can dismantle the whole tree with it down to just the main trunk of about 20 inches, it's that good.

My husband purchased this to cut down some branches of the trees in our garden. It is very easy to use and his verdict is that this is a brilliant pruning saw and very good value. Makes the job so much easier. Highly recommended.

A great saw that does exactly what it is supposed to . Replaced an ancient pruning saw that had seen many years of work the new feels that it will go on doing the jib for as many years. Already pruned two large bushes with minimum effort.

Have used this for cutting branches in trees and hedgerows. Also used for coppicing dozens of metres of 'gappy' agricultural hedgerows (and chopping the resulting timber into wood burner size small logs). Every now and again (maybe after several hours of use), need to tighten the screws that hold the blade to the handle, so take a screwdriver with you just in case.

This Bahco Pruning Saw is absolutely brilliant and worthy of all the 5 star reviews.Based on reading the Amazon reviews I bought it to prune a couple of large trees and it saws through the thickest of branches with ease as it is mega-sharp and certainly fast and efficient. An excellent product which along with my Alan Titchmarsh Ratchet Loppers with Extending Handles make tree pruning an absolute doddle. The only hard bit is climbing the tree !

Would definitely recommend. Very good saw have had this for about a year now and it gets regular weekly use and still is just as sharp as when I bought it. Comfortable handle and the slight hook at the base means you leave it hanging on branches or storage hooks in the shed.
