Sometimes, not very often it seems in the age we live in, something fresh leaps up and slaps you in face, denting that tedious stodgy conventional wisdom, flouting that stifling wearisome political correctness, and, in a timely manner, distracting one from despairing at the mess our so-called political betters have got themselves and us into. That's 'Bad Boys'!
As entertainment it is tremendously funny; the sort of anarchic, completely irreverent British humour that, if sold by the yard, Brussels would have legislated away decades ago. To keep it cool, and brief, Banks can write and succeeds not only in telling his side of the Leave campaign, revealing how dis-functional the whole movement was, but more importantly identifying why and how the 'establishment' got it wrong and Leave got it right.
Beyond this he lucidly and coherently describes the crossroads at which post-Brexit (and indeed pre-Brexit) British politics sits, its foot on the brake, its GPS spinning uncontrollably, its wipers struggling to clean the bird crap off the windscreen, and an ominous clanking sound coming from under its bonnet. It's not the first time we've heard of third ways or new ways, but he identifies, for me at least, a sign post that could take us (at some time in the future at the end of a long and steep climb), to a more inclusive, balanced, honest Britain that cares about all its people, identifies and pledges support for real and meaningful values and that might have the courage and freshness to tell it just how it is! But then he spoils it all and mentions The Donald (the same one we now know today)...….and I fear we find ourselves back sitting, musing at that same crossroads! Read it - you will love it or hate it, be inspired by it or despair at it, admire the 'good guys' or the 'bad guys' depending on your limp, but never find it dull.
Beyond this 'Bad Boys' is both a book to be read for fun if you feel the farce we currently face needs a lighter side, and a book worthy of study if you want to understand how and why the United Kingdom sits ready on the brink of change to face its 'Berlin Wall moment'.

Review
"Every Remainer should steel themselves to read it, because the mindset that it captures - one they don't like or understand - is driving change on both sides of the Atlantic." --Gaby Hinsliff, The Guardian

Good 'chucklesome' read. Not an end-to-end 'Ladfest' though. Reveals some interesting insights into various players, not to the exclusion of those from the Remain side. Diary style works well and makes it extremely easy reading and easy to dip in and out of. Sense of humour carries it along nicely, includes some glossy photos too which is a nice little 'bonus' within your standard paperback. A real insight for 'Remainers' as well as 'Brexiteers'. All you need is a decent sense of humour and an open mind.

A truthful, honest and hilarious account of how some passionate, well connected individuals managed to upturn the safe ship called status quo and inspire ordinary folk that they could, for once, make a difference to their country.
Needless to say, we know who wins but the journey is still riveting.
A big thank you to Banksy, Wiggy and Nigel for playing their part not just in the result but also for providing some superb stories and
Anecdotes that are both brutally honest but also some of the funniest I've read and the seguay in to President Trump story really the icing on the cake.
There really is nowt stranger than fiction so buy this!

the bad boys are brilliantly refreshing! Some laugh out loud moments... Certainly opened my eyes to the underhanded way of politics... you know these things but this book slaps you in the face with it!

Great read with many surprises too. I'm amazed of the battle within leave let alone the one with remain. The battle Nigel Farage had is one so much harder than I realised.

Great insights into the successful campaign created by leave.eu from Arron Banks diary of daily events. Some of which predicted the future with uncanny accuracy.
