This book is all about increasing awareness of a growing problem - child deaths in hot cars. A problem that is 100% avoidable if you know and understand the facts. I was very surprised to read how fast a child will actually come to harm in a hot car. I didn't realize their bodies are incapable of cooling themselves like adults are. Or how quickly the temperature rises inside a vehicle even if its cooler outside. Or that we should keep our vehicles locked while sitting at home. Or how many organizations are out there dedicated to educating us about children and car safety. All these things and much much more is discussed in exceptional detail in this book.
Informative, educational, with enough real life examples to undoubtedly convince you how this tragedy can happen and is becoming a real threat. Highly recommend reading this one and getting a copy for anyone that could benefit from this knowledge.

Any parent, grandparents or caretaker forget a child in a car"? I also never thought of having to lock my car because a child might lock themselves in it and die. Well I now think differently. This is a book that I advise anyone that has children, caretaker as well as the grandparents to buy and read. These stories also had me crying, I felt the hurt the parents went through and I also had my doubts on a couple of cases that I wondered was it forgetfulness, or was it intentional. You must read and give a copy to anyone involved in a child's life.
This book will forever remain etched in my mind. RJ & JJ Slate have taken this book to the second level. Dramatic.
This book was also very difficult for me to read. I had to continually stop and wipe the tears from my eyes as I read this book. That said it was also a very important book to read...
I want to commend these authors for writing this book in the hopes of bringing this horrible, heart wrenching subject to the attention of others in the hopes of preventing any more deaths of these precious little ones!
EVERY ONE, whether or not your a parent or care person of a child, should read this book, every one should understand how and what happens when a child is left in a car. AND PASS THIS INFO ON TO OTHERS.
Don't let your family or a family you know become a statistic.
I particularly took interest in Chapter 10, this chapter did a great job in explaining how and why forgetting your child can and does happen. No one is immune.
They also cover the importance of making sure your child can not excess a vehicle on their own.
To all the families who have lost a child my heart breaks for you and I hope some day, some how, you can find the peace you need as you go through this.
For those who intentionally left their child in a car, maybe if you had read this book you wouldn't or couldn't have done that if you knew what the poor child went through.
A very well written and informational book. The facts were fairly written on all accounts.
Again thank you for addressing this important matter!
It is awesome that this book is bringing awareness to people about child deaths in vehicles. Very well written. An excellent book to read. Can read very easily and in a short amount of time. A plethora of information!
