Product Description

Three New York friends are invited to be maids-of-honour at the wedding of the girl they belittled at high school in this farcical comedy adapted from her own play by director Leslye Headland. When they learn that Becky (Rebel Wilson), the former classmate they called 'Pig Face', wants them to be bridesmaids at her wedding to the hunky Dale (Hayes MacArthur), bitches-about-town Regan (Kirsten Dunst), Katie (Isla Fisher) and Gena (Lizzy Caplan) set out to give her a sending off she'll never forget. When they finally set out on their boozy, drug-induced blowout, however, a mishap with the bridal gown soon derails their plans, forcing them into a riotous night-time odyssey as they desperately try to right the wrong.

Becky (Rebel Wilson) is getting married to the dismay of her high school friends who believed they would all get married before her. Regan (Kirsten Dunst)is her best friend in the group and is making the arrangements inviting two members of the old gang Gena (Lizzy Caplan) and Katie (Isla Fisher). Gena and Katie haven't matured and through their misdeeds appear to have ruined the wedding as well as their lives.

The film is more of a "Bridesmaid" film than the bachelorette party depicted on the cover which was a minor scene. In this film the women use drugs including cocaine. Kudos to Isla Fisher who played perfectly a girl high on coke. Gena is perhaps the biggest tease in the group in her airplane scene. There was a lot of sex talk in the film, much of which was funny. What didn't work was the wedding speech which described the act. WTF was that? Did the script writer die and have a male teen write that nonsense? There were many other scenes which pushed the limits of crudeness.

This is for people who like sex comedies.

Parental Guide: F-bombs, sex. No nudity. Descriptive sex talk.

I bought this DVD thinking it would be similar to "Bridesmaids", possibly darker. The actresses in this film are completely wasted on this "non-plot" film and the well known faces on the cover were the reason I bought this. The film lacks any excitement, humour or memorable moments. One of those films you only watch all the way through because you've started it, but never amounts to anything. Skip this one, or wait until it's in the bargain bin next month...

I got this because of the reference to Bridesmaids which I quite enjoyed.

Personally I found this movie just disappointing and didn't even finish watching it. I watch some low budget movies and make it all the way through so for me to stop half way through is a big thing

I found the characters just annoyed me, made me embarrassed to be a female and were generally unlikeable. At worst I found the character played by Kirsten Dunst so annoying I would have happily slapped her 5 minutes into it.

I found the storyline to be just the same old one about the cool girls at school and how sad and pathetic their lives are when they continue doing the same things in their 20's/30's that they were doing in their teens.

Personally found this film really depressing and a complete snore fest.

I actually enjoyed this film, despite bad reviews from critics and my fellow viewers! Okay, there is a lot of unnecessary swearing and A LOT OF drug use, but in the end, it was good to see such a refreshing take on comedy - "Bachelorette" is a film where gorgeous women are permitted to be imperfect, weak, messed-up, rude AND hugely entertaining - roles usually reserved for men. The acting, surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly, after all the main heroines are talented and proven, each in her own right!) is good! I just enjoyed watching both Kirsten Dunst and Lizzy Caplan on screen. The male cast was, in contract, surprisingly boring and/or given quite boring personas to play.

I tell you, this film will go down nicely if you are planning a fun night in with the girls! Plus it's relatively short and full of action - you won't get bored of it! (And I am very tempted give to this all 5 stars!!)

Have you seen the film `Bridesmaids?' It's pretty much the question you have to ask yourself when you're considering watching the `Bachelorette.' It's effectively a poor clone/remake/whatever.

It's about a woman who's going to get married the next day, when her best friends accidentally tear up her wedding dress (yes, seriously). Therefore, they have to get it fixed in the middle of the night and end up going on a hilarious adventure.

Unfortunately, it's not hilarious. It's not even funny. I checked the time on the DVD at about 40 minutes in and I still hadn't laughed. And that's not a good sign for a comedy. If you check out the general reviews, you'll see that most people describe it as a `horrible' film. I wouldn't call it horrible, just not funny.

The characters are pretty unlikeable and every mess they get into is largely their fault. You won't really care about any of them and, despite being good actresses (Kristen Dunst and Isla Fisher) they can't bring any real humour to this film.

If you like the idea of a film that's basically `a female The Hangover' stick to Bridesmaids. That had charm and humour. This has neither.

What a nasty little film. I just don't know what it was trying to achieve. The plot was flimsy - it seemed to be little more than an hour and half of three fairly loathsome girls bitching and snarling at everyone in sight. Or rather, two bitches and a coke-head who seemed to be high all of the time in a rather tiresome way.

You simply couldn't empathise with, or be amused by, any of the three leads. Even in the scenes when they were supposed to show their humanity/vulnerability at the end, it was lost - the damage was done.

If it was supposed to be a comedy, it was weak. There wasn't even any dark humour, never mind wit. If it was supposed to be a film noir, it wasn't stylish.

Kirsten Dunst can do better. She was completely one-dimensional.

Poor show.
