"If you want a story with make you laugh til you cry parts, heart melting sweet parts and melt your panty parts, this is the book for you! The family is in rare form, and the wedding week festivities are a hoot. What I really love, though is how Rachel's books are sexy, funny and romantic, but they also have serious issues for the main characters to work through. You might be rolling on the floor laughing one minute and tearing up the next. That's when books are the best! All I can say is, "Bring on book three, Rachel!"--The Book Hookers
"Laugh-out-loud fun! Rachel Van Dyken is on my auto-buy list."--Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author of the Lucky Harbor series

This story follows Brock, the bachelor up for auction in the title. He feels that he has to take responsibility for his family and has difficulty saying no, especially to his rather ornery grandfather. He agrees to be auctioned for charity, obstensibly for a date but he knows his grandfather is hoping he'll find a bride. He's none too impressed but agrees to the scheme. He meets a damsel in distress at a party and things get a bit complicated from there.
This book was great fun! All the characters were fantastic, the dialogue was great and some of the banter hilarious. The side characters were all really good and it was a lovely touch to include some characters we've met before in the bet series. I've missed Grandma Nadine. There were also some rather interesting characters from the animal kingdom that added to the fun.
There was romance, some emotional times and lots of humour. A perfect blend for me. I was sucked straight in and finished in one sitting. I finished with a great big cheesy grin on my face. The best way to finish IMO.
This is a great start to a new series and I'm looking forward to the next story. This book is a standalone with a complete story.
I would definitely recommend this to fans of good romance with a fairy tale twist.
Overall, there is nothing in particular that overly stands out, but the characters are all strong enough to make this a 4* romance book and I have to say, I am definitely looking out for the twins stories when they come!
However who doesn't love an RVD take on cinderella.... WE have Jane who gets walked all over by her demanding sisters and we have Brock who basically cannot say no to his grandfather. Throw in a party, an auction to win the one and only Brock Wellington oh and a set of brothers who ask Grandma Nadine for help and we have one crazy book.
It was fantastic meeting my favourite Grandma Nadine (who is known from THE BET SERIES (which was also my first RVD read)) and while I didn't necessarily fall in love with Brock and Jane I certainly cannot wait for the final two brothers stories.
Rachel has such a fantastic writing style that there isn't anything of hers I wouldn't read!
URMMM of course she can!
The Bachelor Auction is a super sweet read, based loosely on Cinderella (a story line that i love btw) but RVD has such great talent, that even though you know the story, it feels like you're reading something completely fresh and genuine.
For me, RVDs books play out as a movie when i'm reading which makes them such easy enjoyable reads.
but don't take my word for it, buy a copy for yourself and be prepared to welcome the Wellington Bros into your life ;)
Absolutely loved this book, I'm not gunna lie, it's brilliant.
I love that Jane and Brock met before they actually 'meet'.
Cinderella is more independent than previously portrayed and is not scared to stand up for herself. 'Prince charming' is totally charmed by cinders and Gradma Nadine? Favourite part!
He didn't want the auction, didn't think he could deter from his grandfather's path, but once Jane entered his life, all plans were derailed.
A fab read, looking forward to seeing the twins settle next ha!
