I was a bit disappointed with the sound quality of the recording, which was as billed 'original' meaning completely in Mono. I suppose we have become accustomed to hearing modern recordings in Stereo with crystal sharp sound and anything less than that is really a bit of a let down. Despite Gould's inescapably fine playing style this recording did not show him at his best and there are other finer, contemporary versions of these works to be had.
