I must say that I have heard many recordings of these works and yet this really beats them all. What's so beautiful is the phrasing which in many recordings is predictable, but here is immaculate; it has dynamic energy at times and beguiling poise at others. The players really sound like they are involved in a conversation so the works are alive with inflection. The tempos are perfectly chosen and rubato is used, but sparingly. In all they avoid the 'baroque by numbers' approach which characterises may performances. Highly recommended.

Was a cheap download but it became pretty boring after a very little amount of time so I then moved onto my top choice on Harmonia Mundi and never looked back :-)
