About the Author

Maurice G. Dantec was born in Grenoble in 1959. A former advertising executive and songwriter for a French rock group, he is a shameless lover of science fiction, crime novels, metaphysics, and rock and roll. He has published The Red Siren, The Roots of Evil and Villa Vortex as well as three huge journal essays, Theatre of Operations.

Don't bother with the stupid movie

This story is awesome, full of depth and detail. I bought this book because I heard the movie was trash, they always are when you let Hollywood have them.
I am so glad I read this first, what a beautiful story, the characters were well developed, the story line complex but easy to follow if you are patient and let yourself think about it. I'm confused that some other reviewers were not able to follow the story?

definitely on my read again list.

A very good book in my opinion, fast paced and gripping, but if you do not finish it then you will not understand the story. It gives you small bits of info through out the book that don't make much sense at the time, but they all add up in the end.

I have since watched the film and whilst it does not stick the book exactly I can understand why and think that it is still a very good film. The film is much simpler than the book and a lot easier to follow, and as all the info in the book that adds up in the end is delivered as thoughts or Joe-Jane's interactions I feel it is best that they were left out.

So read the book and then watch the film Babylon A.D. (1-Disc Edition) [DVD] [2008 ], or the other way round if you wish, but the film does simplify the story line a lot and makes the book make a lot sense if after watching it.

I thoroughly recommend both.

what is this all on about, somebody tell me

i have read thousands of sci-fi books in my time , but this rates up there with some of the worst , i gave up after a while could`nt make head nor tail of it, makes me wonder what the film is like, anybody seen it let me know.......

i`ve seen the film in my view it`s a donkey, really a donkey slow and full of xxxx
