About the Author
The Chiappa sisters made their TV debut with the series Simply Italian on Channel 4. As Italian home cooks, they value simply family recipes that anyone can do. Now with children of their own, Michela and Emanuela know how important it is to provide fresh and nutritious meals for all the family.
Working from home as full-time mums, the sisters also run, style and manage their YouTube channel, feature regularly on Jamie Oliver's Food Tube and have been regular columnists for Grazia magazine. Voted one of the UK's top parenting voggers, Michela also launched Jamie Oliver's Family Food Tube with her simple weaning recipes. She has also presented a number of TV shows for BBC Wales and BBC Worldwide, most recently Michela's Tuscan Kitchen. Emanuela was a nanny and how heads up the photography, styling and development of Michela's recipes.

The tone of voice is friendly and non judgemental (I have read books that had me feeling like I was committing my child to a lifetime of illness and obesity if I didn't follow their advice)! This book has worked for me because it fits my ethos around family meal times as a positive and fun experience, my goal has been eating the same meal as a family and this book has helped me achieve that.
If you are a confident cook, or this is not your first time weaning, you may find the book lacks a wide variety of recipes, but this isn't about wowing your baby with your kitchen skills. It is about keeping the process simple and fun for you and baby and then your toddler, whilst not forgetting life can be hectic and sometimes we all need a treat. So if you are feeling nervous about weaning and unsure where to start or how to progress beyond purees this book is perfect.
I would recommend this for first time Mums & Dads, or anyone who has to try a different weaning approach to one they have used before.
To get the most out of the book purchase before you start weaning so you can use the ideas for all stages. I have no doubt this will continue to be a great kitchen companion and I'm looking forward to cooking with my little one.
I've read a lot of baby weaning/ kids cook books and this is my new favorite.
