These clearly designed and fun cards give great and simple ideas to develop early communication skills in babies. The cards are a fantastic resource for parents, and early years practioners, and speech and language therapists to develop the vital early communication skills for babies.

Each card has fun illustrations and focus on early communication, and shows the importance of skills such as looking, listening, playing to develop language skills. Things that certainly are not taught in anti- natal classes but all parents should know. It gives parents exciting ideas to interact with their child, and what ages you are expecting your child to communicate in different ways.

For practioners a wonderful resource for group and individual work. It also has a 6 week plan of activities ready to use.

Communication is so important from birth, and all new babies enjoy interacting.

A great resource.

We were given Babbling Babies as a gift and were instantly taken by the beautiful art, practical advice, good tips, and even reassurance these cards provided as we started working through them with our 7 month old. This box of cards is a must for any parent who wants to make sure that they are ready to help support their child's development and have fun with them in the process. This will be our new "new baby gift" for friends and family.

Parents want to do the best for their children but once physical needs are taken care of, most can benefit from ideas about how to interact and play with their babies. This beautifully presented resource from the Children's Communication Charity ICAN provides lots of practical tools to do just that. The activities , some familiar and some less so, are divided into five key areas of Playing and interacting, Learning to listen, Learning and understanding new words,Expressing myself and Exploring and developing.
The activities are set out clearly on individual cards, with ways in which they can be used to suit the age and developmental stage of the baby. The focus is on using day to day experience and interaction between the adult and baby and not on teaching.
They are also an ideal resource for nursery staff to use and a sample plan is provided to get started. A follow on product Toddler Talk provides the next step.Early years practitioners will welcome both of these excellent resources to add to their repetoire.

The babbling babies cards are the sister set of cards to Toddler Talk. Produced on good quality card, with super illustrations, each activity supports baby's language. The activities are well explained and fun to do. The booklet explains how baby's development is supported and some of the cards explain why this activity is important. The suggested programme of activities is a really useful for practitioners. An excellent resource for any nursery or parent.
