Cheap screen works well
Originally thought this was a used unit due to scratches on the screen as others have said but it turned out to be a protective cover on the screen so all good . Connected power and nothing happened contacted the vendor who said it won’t come on unless you have a video source going in and he was absolutely right, as soon as I plugged in the yellow rca it all come to life. Not the greatest resolution but that’s not what I bought it for. Overall very happy

    [Arrived quickly, looked good and everything seemed in order, I had bought it to use with my Raspberry Pi although i hooked it up to a DC power source and the screen flickered white and then remained blank and would not display any video.

    I also noticed that the sticker on the side had been folded in as if the unit had been opened and closed beforehand, this led me to think that I may have been accidentally sent a defective unit although it could of just happened during the manufacturing process, because of this I decided not to do anything else with it and send it back to amazon for a refund.
    I accept that this may have just been a one time mistake and apart from that everything else was good quality.]

    EDIT: My bad, I bought another display and found it did the same thing. I then realised that it was my power supply was not working correctly, so I assume that the first display was most likely fully working and not defective. >_<
    Everything worked well for my raspberry pi and the screen is decent resolution for playing various emulators although you will need to edit the overscan, framebuffer etc to be able to read the command line. Mine is currently set to 480x360 and it is just about readable although I believe that 360x240 will give better results.

    Bought this to use with a Raspberry Pi via the RCA output, works fine. The analogue connection is a bit of a drawback, the picture quality is not too great (I have not attempted to use the Pi's RCA output with anything else though, so have no basis for comparison). The terminal is pretty illegible at 640x480, but is much improved if you set the framebuffer res to 320x240 in /boot/config.txt. I've not attempted video playback or anything else beyond a plain terminal, so can't comment on quality in these kinds of tasks.

    The screen is designed to be powered by a car's electrical system, so you will need to purchase a separate 12 volt power supply to use it with a Pi. The screen does come with a power supply connector on the cable though, and any decent 12v universal power supply should have a matching plug.

    All-in-all you almost certainly wouldn't want to use this as the primary display for your Pi, but if you're looking for a cheap, small, and portable display for occasional use with an otherwise screen-less Pi then you can't go wrong.

    I purchased this screen for use as an external monitor for my dslr while shooting video. I had seen others on YouTube us it successfully and couldn't resist it for the price. When I recived the product I powered it up with a 12v ac supply and connected it to my nikons A/V out, but the screen was blank. I know the cameras av out works because I have connected it to the tv before with success. After trying it with two more power supplies, including a 9v battery (as I have heard these also work) the screen remained blank. Not happy. The product is in the process of being returned.

    This small monitor is ideal for use with a CCTV system, combined with a suitable 12V power supply (mains transformer - NOT SUPPLIED) it can be placed by the front door and a cable run from the 'call' output of the DVR to show who is at the front door. If you have a PIR in the porch this can also be wired to power up the transformer along with the porch light so that the screen does not consume power unless someone arrives at the door (also avoids screen burn-out). Obviously consult a qualified electrician if you are not comfortable with DIY wiring such as this.

    I also use this as a quick monitor for focusing CCTV cameras up ladders etc, again with a 12V transformer and long lead.

    This monitor has a nice clear display, appears to be manufactured well, and is sold at a price that was competitive compared to other suppliers; I would not have been prepared to pay much more considering the price of this type of technology at the present time.

    piccolo monitor lcd, formato 4:3.
    Acquistato per adattarlo ad un vecchio videocitofono, dove fa il suo lavoro senza problemi anche con il segnale di una telecamera bianco-nero un po' datata (ma gia' CCD). L' angolo di visione e'quello tipico degli LCD TFT, se si guarda troppo da sotto (oltre 45 gradi) l'immagine appare in negativo, ma nel mio caso non e'un problema.
    Alimentabile a 8-15V senza problemi. Ricordare che l'impedenza di entrambi gli ingressi video-compositi (CVBS) e' 75ohm (come da standard) ma per questo richiede una piccola modifica ad uno dei resistori smd per poterlo usare come monitor da videocitofono.
