This story is the conclusion to Hook. Having read book one, I just HAD to read this because the last one ended on a massive cliff hanger !!
Oh my, this book did not disappoint at all, although the last book was good, this was better. It is well written, the excitement and angst started straight away, with you being taken on a merry go round of rides that are nail biting and suspenseful; I just about kept up.
Without giving any spoilers away Marco has to prove his love for Brandi after the traumatic events at the end of the last book. She thinks he is the enemy and despises him for his involvement in her life to such an extent that she is a broken woman. She thought Marco was her knight in shining armour - her saviour, until all hell let loose. Marco is determined to put things right -but at what cost to them both and to their sanity. I adore the character Marco, he is a beautiful man, yes he has made mistakes but he is so willing in his love for Brandi - your heart melts for him. Brandi is a determined feisty lady whom I took a little more time to warm to, but boy you have to admire her strength and devotion.
All in all this book is an absolute winner, it has everything that makes a story great; passion, love, angst galore, excitement, and plenty of hold your breath moments. A must read!!!
when Hook finished it left us with a major cliffhanger, I was heartbroken at the end of it and was glad I could just jump straight into Burn. Emily is devastated by the turn of events at the end of Hook, she vows to get revenge on everyone who was a part of it.
After reading the synopsis for this book I thought it was going to be in Marco's POV but turned out it was dual POV. I think this worked out better since we got to see both sides and how things affected each of them.
Marco also seeks his own vengeance for what happened, he is torn up and needs to make it right! Marco has held my heart since the very beginning. I loved him completely the whole way through both books.
This book had so many twists and turns in it, I devoured it just like I did the previous book and couldn't bear to set it down. The emotions raging through me while reading this book went from one end of the spectrum to the other. I was happy, mad, disgusted, heartbroken and also elated. I cried sore at a few parts and could literally feel the pain jumping off the pages. Elizabeth's writing style to me was amazing, she made me feel like I was part of the story and dragged me through every single emotion each character felt with them. I will definitely be reading more of her work.

Marco was more likeable in this book, he had this nature where it didn’t matter what was going on, Emily’s happiness came first. He knew that he was going to hold a lot of guilt especially after what happened in the first book. This book has Marco and Emily on two different paths but at the same time, their goal is the same, to get justice.
I love this book because it shows the strength of a mother’s love, it shows a woman whose driving force is putting herself forward to get justice. She isn’t cowering and giving in. That force of nature is what made me fall in love with this book all over again. There is something powerful about the message Emily gives. She’s not giving up and I love that she isn’t. That shows growth and true strength. I am in awe of how much she’s grown from the first book.
There is one question that you will all want to know the answer to but I’m not telling, it is so much more powerful if you read this book and experience it for yourself. Do not skip to the end, you’ll regret the magic that is created in this intense but powerful story.
“…sometimes dreams don’t come in the form you thought they would. It doesn’t make them any less amazing. The universe just knew what you needed better than you did.”
Elisabeth Grace is evil, oh yes, this quiet unassuming author has a mean streak and it is long and wide. Elisabeth Grace certainly put my emotions through the proverbial wringer with Burn, so much so that I cannot really say anything about the story at all, everything is a spoiler.
After the ending of Hook, I was hooked. It has pained me to wait, but patiently I did and once Burn turned up on my kindle I had to dive in…earlier than I should have, but reading lists are made to be broken…right??
I thought I had it all worked out, this was one of those books where I was constantly thinking and rethinking trying to come up with plot lines, trying to foresee just trying to clamour any grain of sand I could to get the ending I was desperate for. But and this is a huge BUT, Elisabeth Grace makes us wait, takes us on a rollercoaster of a ride, rips you apart and slowly but surely gives you stitch by stitch to painfully put your decimated heart back together again. She was brutal.
“…I’m going to start with the person who pulled the trigger. Then I’ll deal with the person who was pulling the strings.”
Elisabeth Grace takes a route I never foresaw and was painful to read, but desperate times call for desperate measures and the love of a mother has no beginning and definitely no end. Grief is extremely painful and brutal, it can mar your common sense that can ultimately lead to rash and dangerous decisions and there were plenty in this book.Read more ›

It didn't have the impact that I found in the first book but it was still a good read. I liked the fact that the writer didn't stretch it out like some do. Worth a read.Published 5 months ago by L beaver
