I use a headset - the volume is clear and concise.
Hands-free - clear and concise
Microphone, I can sit back and people can hear me perfectly well
Directory - much improved programming, I didn't even need to read the short manual
True you need a desklight to read it at night, but then I need one to see the desk anyhow!
Clarity of screen - very good, no descenders on letters (pgq) but its obvious what they are
Quick dial - large and clear - so need for a light, very fast in use.
Button - large and clear
Handset - solid, feels good
Ringtones - standard - you have to ring yourself to hear them, but its a singular experience, once done, all done.
If you are a home/small office user - if the power goes out - NONE of the cordless DECT phones will work!
YOU need one wired conventional phone for emergencies - this is the jobbie for that job.
It does work on Virgin lines too, tested & in-use.
Very good purchase
+ 10 one touch dial buttons (each stores 32 digits max.)
+ You can redial any of the last 10 numbers you dialled.
+ 100 name & number directory (each stores a 16 letter name, & a 32 digit number max.)
+ 50 number last caller log (although manual is inconsistent stating only 40.)
+ Headphone socket (RJ11).
+ Hands free operation.
+ Caller mute button.
+ Current time & date display.
+ Unit is very stable on smooth hard surfaces or can be wall mounted.
- Mains powered.
- Screen and keys should have a backlit option (to justify mains power lead.)
- Amplify button only raises phone to max volume (not an actual boost above max volume), and only works on handset, not on hands free operation.
I bought this phone because we already have BT Converse 300 which has worked well so far (some 20 years!). The BT Converse 300 uses AA batteries to maintain things like clock and number memories. However the 2300 unit uses mains power, so you don't have to buy batteries, but you do have the extra hassle of finding a convenient mains socket and routing an extra cable to where ever you site the phone.
I've read some review that suggests that the phone will not work in a power cut because its powered by the mains. This is not the case, as it did work when we had a power cut recently.
It will take an RJ11 style headset connector, it has a privacy button which is cool, if you`ve got someone on loudspeaker, or on the handset you press it and they can`t hear anything, the secrecy button also flashes a nice orange colour when activated, the handsfree button has a nice solid green light. Overall very pleased with the phone, the one disappointment to me is the screen, its just plain old black dots, I feel the description "backlit" is some what of an exaggeration, I work in my loft and the screen is very dark indeed, pity a nicely backlit screen would have topped this phone off a treat, the other small gripe i have is the the screen can`t be angled so sitting where i am it does cut off the date text
BUT having said that I`m glad I bought it, its good value for money and has a great build quality, if the other 2 small gripes were fixed I would be rating 5 stars

This product works, but incredibely hard to hear people on the other end and people have difficulty hearing us too. Unfortunately this is not what I had in mind when purchased.Published 5 months ago by Eva 1980

Broke down after 1 month. Ringtone is not loud at all, and now caller display doesn't show.
Cheaply manufactured, low-quality product, branded with the bt name.
I previously had exactly the same telephone but wanted another to go into a different room - that is how pleased I am with it. Read morePublished 11 months ago by Amazon Customer
