After having this product for nearly a year I thought to write a review about it, I'm giving it 4 stars even though it has basically stopped working by this point I don't go an hour without having to re-plug it the past 3 months because it just seems to be burnt out, I bought this because of it's suitable price and didn't think of it being able to work well with Gaming and Twitch streams at the same time (I'm that type of person) but it has really burnt it out but obviously this wouldn't be the case if I bought the 900Mbps one. Good product just may not be the best for gamers.

i bought one of these and i must of been lucky as i have had no problems installing like most of these reviewers have but then i am not using a laptop or xp i have windows 8.1 and it worked first time after put all my details in like email and password i am not saying it is fast but for money paid is not bad i have the netgear dongle as well and this seems better and a lot cheaper so if want it to work do not use laptop or xp so all in all i am a happy customer at the moment while it is working

Asus Windows 7 laptop with built in wifi to BT home hub kept dropping the connection several times a day with a separation of about five metres. (Mobile phones and tablets were very much better at greater distance.) This dongle is very much better, but still drops out most days. No idea why. Dongle is fairly large and inelegant compared with the tiny usb connector used by the cordless mouse.

I needed to connect a laptop running Windows 7 with a dual monitor desktop PC running Windows XP. I'd originally used a rather old Belkin adapter to connect the PC to a (now discarded) second PC also running windows XP but, unfortunately, the laptop/XP connection provided by the Belkin unit was unreliable. The BT unit overcame the problem, was very simple to install and has given me a reliable and fast link between the two computers.

Another reviewer has, to my slight surprise, commented adversely on the size of the BT unit. However, it's considerably smaller than the original Belkin unit and plugs neatly into a USB port on the back of the computer. No problems at all.

I was using powerline adapters to keep my upstairs PC online but the speeds were poor and it just totally conked out when someone was using the internet downstairs.

I bought this and couldn't be happier. I get Ethernet speeds and ping from the wifi adapter and have no connection problems despite being in a house that you'd think was lined with lead.

Set up was easy, totally plug and play. PC required a reboot to get it going but beyond that it was great.

This product would not install on to My PC even though it was compatible with my PC and broadband so I contacted BT customer services for assistance. Rather than help me the call centre staff repeatedly directed me to a phone number that was specifically for BT broadband customers. After nearly 2 hours on the phone and trying different set up methods I decided to return the item as it was not fit for purpose and reverted back to the cheaper yet superior Wi-Fi dongle I had been using previously (TP Link). BT have really disappointed me with how they have treated me but I understand that a lot of customers have the same issue with them which is a shame as BT used to be a reputable organisation. I would never consider purchasing anymore of their products and will make sure that I inform as many people as possible about their poor treatment of customers and incompetent staff members
