Ridiculously good value for money, and instructions for using with ePSXe

I ordered this so I can use my PS2 controller to play my old PS1 games on my laptop via the emulator ePsxe. I have PS2 games as well, however sadly my laptop doesn't seem to be good enough to play them, probably because it doesn't have a graphics card in it!

The adapter arrived this morning having taken 11 days from China (very quick given the distance). It took me a while to figure out how to get it to work with ePSXe but after youtubing it I figured it out.

1. ENSURE THE ADAPTER WORKS ON YOUR PC
- Plug the adapter into your PC/laptop,
- Run the program on the provided CD
- To test it works, go to Devices and Printers (if you're on Windows 7 at least), and you should see the gamepad as "Twin USB joystick"
- Right-click on the gamepad icon, and click on Game Controller Settings and you should see two identical entries which for me say "Twin Vibration USB Gamepad" (yours may say something different depending on your controller). Click on either of these, then on Properties, and then start moving/clicking on your gamepad. If you see anything move on that screen, great. If not, cancel and select the other "Twin Vibration USB Gamepad" and repeat these instructions. Provided one of these works, then your gamepad works. Yay!

2. ePSXe CONFIGURATION
- With the adapter still plugged in, open ePSXe, go to Config -> Gamepad -> Port 1 -> Pad 1
- From the dropdown on the right, select either DualShock or if you have a DualAnalog select that.
- You will probably have keyboard mappings setup already. You will need to change these.
- One at a time, click on a box which corresponds to a button on the gamepad, and click the corresponding button on your PS2 gamepad itself.
- Each time you do this, the box should be updated with something like J2_B5, J2_LEFT and so on. (Yours might have a suffix of J1 instead depending on which port you plugged it into.)
- Once you've done this for all the buttons, click Ok.

That's it! Load up your favourite game, and if you've done everything properly, when it's loaded it should work like a dream.

used it for my pc so i could play my "ps1 dual analog controller grey" on my pc wit epsxe2 and epsxe and Visual game boy... worked perfect, no disputing the quality, even the dual sticks worked perfectly. had not one issue, now i didn't install the drivers, i just plugged and played it on my pc. i dont recall the same problems as other people had. the response is the same as if it were used with a console. A1 in my book anyway

I was hoping for analog inputs, something that all other controllers lack.
The sticks work as analog, which is good, every single other input however is digital. Not what I was hoping for.

Installing the drivers makes no sense, it's just a load of .exe files with names that are named in codes.

Also I have what seems to be a very common bug (I think it's to do with Windows 7 64-bit, not the adapter) where the right stick is working as if it's 90° clockwise.

The controller itself vibrates fine with each side independently, but together it barely shakes, seems as if there isn't enough power to it (the light is very dim). (Wouldn't have any idea how to get vibration to work in-game anyway.)

The actual adapter however is very well built and everything fits perfectly.
It's just a shame it's not really working quite right for me.

Also, the D-Pad seems to act as another left stick. I need to assign the buttons on the D-Pad to do things, but it recognises it the same as the stick for some reason.

Bought it for my son to play Minecraft on his laptop. He is very pleased with it.
The adapter and the driver disc came in perfect condition, however i don't know if the driver CD actually did any thing, since the computer didn't seem to recognise it, and the disc drive just sat there buzzing. But when I plugged the adapter in it seemed to install what ever it needed any way and works perfectly.
The only problem seems to be using a PS2 controller, since it seems that the X, Circle, Triangle and Square buttons do the same thing as the Right analogue stick, and the D-pad does the same thing as the Left analogue stick. However this could just be a problem with the controller I have (Which is not an original Sony controller), or the button mapping software I am using.

Based on the price, I wasn't exactly enthusiastic that this product would deliver. I needn't have worried. It does exactly what it says, and it does it well. It installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with no problems at all.
I tested it with numerous PS1 and PS2 games and all recognized the adapter - and the PS2 dual shock I used along with it - perfectly. Delivery was very fast... two days I recall.

Only problem I have found - and the reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars - is that; a few modern games I have tried to use this with (Including Sleeping dogs) seem to think it is a games for windows 360 pad. Which means that the game auto configures buttons in the wrong place, etc. And I can not seem to reconfigure it from within the games options. Though, even this can be fixed by using third party software such as 'Xpadder'. All-in-all I can recommend this product highly to anyone who plays or is looking to play Playstation games on their PC. If you are looking for a reliable way to use a console pad as a PC gaming pad for modern gaming, however, I'd recommend investing in a 'Xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver for windows' (Around £15 on Amazon.co.uk, I believe)
